I go airsofting as much as I possibly can (which is not often enough, in all honesty). I have a small team which I've dubbed "Sweeper Team". So far, it's just me and four or five other guys. Just the way I like it. As team leader, I've designated myself "Snifleman", as I own an AGM M14 for use as a sniper rifle, a ghillie suit and about a million AEGs. So I decided to pick myself up an actual sniper rifle and went with this one: Whenever I get an airsoft gun, I scower the internet to try to find out more about its real steel counterpart. Especially if I'm not sure what the AEG or whatever is supposed to be a replica of. So I did some looking on the net for possible matches with this rifle. Found one. It's a replica of the Steyr SSG 69 (specifically the SSG 69 PII). Pic of the real steel below. Who makes the airsoft version? Are there any pics of the other side of the receiver? Russ ![]() |

I have a real Steyr SSG P2 and it shoots great! It's even been blooded by killing an antelope at 400 metres (tasted great!). I even have 2 very rare 10 shot mags. I'll post some pix when I have some time. Been doing 12-14 hour workdays. No time to even shoot anymore. You know, I'm not entirely sure who makes it. It's simply labeled at "Swiss Arms M6" all the retailers. Since it's obviously a Steyr, calling it a "Swiss Arms" rifle doesn't make sense to me... Steyr's an Austrian manufacturer. |

Yeah, I finally got it. I bought a second broken version, as well, to test cammo painting. The "Swiss Arms M6" seems to shoot pretty hard and has considerable heft to it. The stock's got a sort of cheap feel, but you wouldn't expect more for a $100+ airsoft gun. I've run into some problems with it VERY early on. I seem to have trouble pushing the bolt back into firing position after I slide it back all the way. I've only done so a couple of times and it seems like this problem developed after the second or third time. Needless to say, I wouldn't make it my personal choice for continuous skirmishing, though it does look REALLY intimidating. A gas sniper rifle is probably the best choice, which is why the next sniper rifle I pick up will be Tanaka's M700 AICS. I've been eyeballing these for a long time now. Please give us a review of it's operation, and some pictures of it stripped down if you take it apart. Though my understanding is you have to be careful of the screws. And I have considered using this in a blade runner blaster build, but I have so many of those things already. ![]() |
