The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Take a look at these Japanese AS guns to see if you can find the one you're looking for:

MAA- The gun PRfan is asking about is Vasquez's sidearm (which she blows the head off an alien in the airduct scene).

Although at a glance it is very close to the apperance of a Colt Government .45, it has been established that it is a S&W model 39 (or 59- the only difference was magazine capacity and a slight curve to the back of the grip).

LRRP once said that there was an airsoft (or BB) version of this gun however it is long out of production and would be a collector's item if found. Sorry I can't remember the maker.:(

All the info was on the old board. Tony if it is possible for you to get the info (if the site is still active) maybe a "Vasquez's sidearm" would be a good Archives thread?:)

*EDIT- now you've got it MAA! the model 59 is the one! (and once again I am beaten by faster typing  ).

yeah, that`s what I`m talkin` about :

but only AS not a cap gun, the MGC is perfect but I guess not allowed in Germany, so an Airsoft pistol would be cool (& cheap)

Well, I suppose if you must have one to do a Vasquez impression, might I suggest this current production springer S&W M645 by Tokyo Marui which is cheap and plastic. You then just need to modify the trigger guard and the nose of the gun.:)

Me, I prefer the VP-70.

Stefan -- even if one of the MGC's can be found, it would be big bucks.;)

hm, you`re right, looks a lil to small, but the trigger guard is fine.
Maybe I have to try my luck on eBay for an older used one (if LRRP was right about that, I`ll find one).

I guess a MGC M59 would cost the same as the VP70, right ?

Did I beat you to it ??

FOR SALE MGC M37 14,000 YEN

FOR SALE MGC M37 15,000 YEN

FOR SALE MGC M37 16,000 YEN

I still think if your purposes is to get an Airsoft pistol that gives you the impression of an M59/37 -- you're better off ordering a TM M645 spring pistol from Hong Kong and modify it.

So 16000 YEN are around 150 USD, right ?
Not so expensive IMO.

Are you sure that the Western Arms is an Airsoft ???
They have nice pearl grips ;o)

Nah, most Marines prefer the VP-70 but I want something different what not all people have ;)

Ooops, found this one here right now :

Looks like a cheap AS pistol but I think 15 Euro is ok.
Just paint the grips white and ready to go.

(Sorry for the image, it`s the auction pic)
Will post better shots if I have this one in my hands.

Thanks MAA, but I meant the early models M39, M39-2 or M59.
The trigger guard of the 5906 looks too different to the old models and the grip of the M59 is more straight.

Anything else ? Maybe some older stuff ?

Sorry MAA, you posted the link while I was typing my reply.

My bad.:)

I've seen an airsoft S&W that has the correct tigger guard, but the rest of the gun is a little off. The gun itself looks a little too compact.

This is a S&W 6906:

It's available from www.modelmarts.com

err, sorry :o

I`m happy that I didn`t miss that thing.

It`s a used gun and the seller didn`t mention the brand but I`ll keep you updated if I got it.

Maybe one of these cheap AS guns which they sell in Turkey at every corner.

I'm just messing with you.:D

That's the Kokusai M5904.

But just trying to make a point also that all you have to do is shave the ABS trigger guard, change out the grips (looks like a rubberized wrap-around like Hogue grips) and you've pretty much have what you're lookin for.

The next trick: finding a AS dealer that stcoks Kokusai who sells over the internet.

Stefan, without seeing the AS pistol and taking off what looks on the catalog to be a rubber moulded grip and checking the frame, we won't know whether the Kokusai SW 5904's grip frame is straight or curved. If I'm a betting man -- I'd say it's straight knowing Japanese attention to details.

I also checked the length on the M59 -- said to be 189mm. That means the Tokyo Marui M645 may also be do-able for conversion for these purposes as the M645 is a full length pistol (around 210mm), by cutting the slide some. The springers are going to be cheap too allowing for trial; otherwise, I wouldn;t mess with a $150 gas pistol (more by the time you pay shipping). YES THE STEP WILL BE AN ISSUE. But luckily the whole thing is ABS. Not sure whether you would shave or build up to achieve the look of the M59 frame.

Then again, if you can buy that Turkish M59 -- you're done striaght away. It's probably a cheap Chinese copy.

All this has made me curious to see if I can convert an el cheapo spring M645 to a M59. Tell you what, I'll look to see if I can find one and try this out ...:P

hell, what`s that ???
All M59 I saw before had a straight grip.
The grip of this gun looks like from a M39.
Built S&W different M59 models (I don`t mean the 459 etc.) ???

just do it !
