Hi All

I have a Maruzen M870... The full size type which runs from plastic shells.. not a clip fed type...

And it will be getting cut down to go in a SPAS cage...

At the moment it's got a plastic barrel and receiver body. I've found metal receivers on EBay but not any metal barrels... None that I know that would fit anyway...

Has anyone got any ideas?

Regards,

Pete

There is a metal barrel set for spinger M870s from G&P and the Chinese manufacturers.....Would this fit the Maruzen shell-ejector?

Absolutely unknown and certainly will require work.

It looks like it possibly could.... The M870 I have is all plastic apart from the magazine tube!

It looks like the barrel COULD possibly fit. The grub screw hole is on the LHS of the barrel as with the Maruzen...

In truth, the only thing I need to fit is the barrel... I can retain and cut the magazine tube which is already there...

Wow! Cheers Steve! That's awesome!

Do you know anything about G&P springer / Maruzen part interchangeability?

Hi there!

I have replaced the barrel on my Maruzen M870 with a metal barrel. Mind you, this only works for the barrel, I believe the mag tube is too wide to be fitted. However, the mag tube on the Maruzen is metal already. I got the "GB-Tech-M870 Metal Barrel & Mag Tube Set-10 Inch". The barrel did need some modification though:

- The barrel does not fit over the metal "funnel" at the front of the Maruzen, so you'll have to dremel out just a bit of metal from the inside of the barrel. It's not much though, so no problem.

- You can attach the barrel with the grub screw at the top, and you can also tap the little holes on the side to add more grub screws. Mine surely won't fall off now. ;-)

- Lastly, when cutting the barrel down to Pulse Rifle specs, you'll notice that the metal is really thick and the inside diameter of the barrel is pretty small. I simply used my dremel to widen the inside diameter, took me a while though.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: Oh, I also have the "G&P M870 Shotgun Metal Body" and it fits perfectly. I had to dremel it a bit to fit it into the SPAS cage.

Cheers!
Roman

Interesting stuff, Roman, thank you...

Do you have any photos of your work in stages?

Steve/Data - Do you have any pictures of your build please?

Thanks Steve...

It's a pity the safety won't work when it's stripped down and in the SPAS cage isn't it? Also, it occurred to me that the lever on the forward part of the trigger guard which, when depressed, will allow the cycling of the pump and ejection of a shell in the chamber won't be able to be accessed once it is surrounded by the shroud...

Did you go for metal replacement parts or just go with the original plastic parts?

EDIT - It looks like you have got your safety catch back in there and accessible...

The trigger safely swith I removed as there is very little chance of pressing the G/L trigger by accident due to the shrouds.

I keep the trigger housing as you need the spring clip inside it or the rack will be loose. So just cut the trigger guard like so - please look at drawing.

You need to machine a slot on the S.P.A.S cage and a little notch for the release lever on the M870 to rack the shotgun at will.

Here is a another photo. These are photos in the early days of building the PR.
