The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Below is the test pack I build to abuse the hell out of gearboxes and try to set FPS records. These are made by Toshiba and are in Size F6. The specification are as:

-1.2Volts
-900 Mah
-Nickel Metal Hydrite
-Dimensions: Length 1&5/8 inches x Width 5/8 inches x Thickness 3/8 inches.

The 14.4 Volt pack 900 Mah measures 3&7/8 inches x 1&5/8 inches x 7/16 inches.

So to get 1800 Mah ==> connect two of these in parallel. the thickness become 7/8 of an inch thick only.

So, if you were making a conventional battery out of the Size F6's, you don't need this many cells. Just take the basic dimensions of each unit and figure out you configuration.

When I had each cell lose, I was stacking them every which way like Legos and coming up with many very compact ways, especially if you only need 900 Mah (as Alex said last you just under 1000 rounds. If you play small capacity mags for realism -- these are the ones to use).

I believe these would solve many a space problem for Airsoft guns.

NOTE: Size F6 batteries are used to build OEM battery packs for Notebook computers and some cellular phones. I recently found some generic ones that were not Toshiba in China. You would probably find these only through battery distributors on the Net. BTW -- it cost me about 25 bucks to have this 14.4 pack built.

I think may be 2x my 14.4 weigh less than your brick!

They are very light. If you have a Motorola cell phone -- feel the weight of your battery, they could be about the same as 2 x F6 (although Motorola batteries are 3.6V indicating 3 cells).

Thanks for the info MAA! So, how much does one of those packs weigh?
It HAS to be lighter than that 1900 mah BRICK I have in my PR currently.

Using MAAs measurements, this is the approximate shape and size of a 8.4v 1800 mah pack:
Image

[edit]Which is actually pretty close in size and shape to the one MAA already has... the only difference being that there would be 2 extra batteries on the end, and the top stack would be linked in parallel to the bottom stack instead of one continuous feed all the way through the pack.[edit]

Are you planning on selling these, dude? Or can you tell us where to find them online please?
Google's been fruitless :(

Alex -- Thanks for taking the time with the image. Nice work.

Remember that ther are many other configurations. The one that I have in mind for the PR would actually be more lengthy, stick configuration.

RS -- I know they are tough to find. I'll try to source them for you guys. Right now I just have but the one test pack.;)

I have but the one pack I built for testing so far. It is very compact indeed. I have only seen this battery in Thailand.
