So-

Saturday was my first run out with my Loadout, Spat Armour and G&P Pulsie
Some notes I mentally made:

1. Never leave your armour overnight in the car in freezing temperatures: It had sheared clean off around the rivets for the shoulder sections....AARGH!. A wrap of duct tape for the day did sterling service.

2. Repairing it with epoxy resin works well enough- I will be adding a 'blob' of Milliput epoxy putty over the glued crack as 'bolstering' then painting this to look like an 'acid burn'

3. The shin armour is a pain the backside if you have slim ankles and big calves- it kept slipping down- I'm going to epoxy a small 'picture hook' inside the base of each front shin armour to make it hook onto the laces on my boots and prevent it slipping down.

4. The P90 pouches worked fine, but I'm going to replace them with some more compact MP5 pouches which happen to fit the Thompson mags too.

5. The pulsie shoots really rather high compared to wear the sights are pointed- that's fine and dandy once you get your eye in.

6. All that said- Spat's armour was comfy and usable all day in the rough and tumble of a woodland skirmish. Kudos to Messr Spat! :)
The only thing I need to add is a some extra padding around the top of the rear armour plate- in certain stances I did 'feel it' more than I would've liked.

You could add velcro to the inside of the greaves and on your trousers that may help stop them slipping

That's the other option I considered..... I do have some Velcro I can use as an experiment prior to the picture hook option ;)

In my experience, ANYONE who knows what it is - gay, straight, bi, trans, male, female, old, young - will always behave this way, even if it's just the prop version.
All they need see is the lit counter and to feel the actual weight, and they're utter children!

One guy came up to me at lunch and said "I was supposed to be covering you when we were defending that blockhouse, but I was watching your round counter work while you were shooting.....and was so cooooooool" :D

And here's a pic of me in action- It's nice that the MAA fatigues and the camo I've gone with on the armour blend pretty well in a sunny woodland :)

I find the first thing people normally say to me is "that is awesome, be good if the counter worked though". Followed by the reaction described above when you loose off some rounds :D

The velcro idea works quite well, from experience.
Or you can pull the tongue of your boot a bit forward, and slot the greaves into there.

My Spat armour survived every skirmish with no problems!
It's moshpits that it didnt like, and where it ultimately met its demise :p

Where do you play? Ill have to suit up and join you sometime!

Fireball Squadron at Tamworth....

And yeah- it survived skirmishing fine but 24 hours at -5oC in the boot of the car seemed to have created/expanded an already existing stress crack where the shoulder panel is riveted to the backplate.....Thankfully fixed with the appliance of science has fixed it. ;)

I finally get to field test my PR this weekend. Very excited, but also sort of skeptical, I am still using the stock battery so it will likely not perform as well as it is capable of doing. Still have my M4 Raider though in that event. :)

So- an update:
0. Repair appears to be plenty robust with epoxy resin only

1. Picture Hook greave retainers work a treat and provide suitible support to prevent slippage.

2. Upgrading and increasing the amount of padding to some neoprene soundproofing foam- 10mm rather than the 20mm thick I tried on the kneepads, which should allow them to sit in the right position on my knee.

3. I'll be adding some 'shin gaskets' and I may add some gaskets behind the breastplate retaining sidestraps.

4. Pondering adding a pair of 'retaining loops' into the back plate to prevent the rear of my web-belt from slipping down due to the weight of the magazines.
