That is the eternal question to face all Airsoft enthusiasts the world over eventually.

I've met people from both camps.

The Standard Power Clan -- shall we call them. Usually keeps his/her gun spotless by wiping after each single game. Most definitely keeps the box to every gun that is purchased. And if the box was damaged -- they'd go out and get one that has no shelf wear to replace it and pay money for it. Definitely filled out the warranty card, and has all the factory brochures in un-read condition.

The High Power Clan -- immediately throws out the box if the gun was shipped. Or if purchased in store -- doesn't bother to take the box home. The warranty card -- waste of time. Automatically voided out when the after-market HS/HT gears and what not are installed whilst the gun is still brand spanking new. Doesn't care if weapons get scratched up in skrimishing or paint chips off the flash hiders --that's what the guns are made for, to be used. Get's rid of guns that are more than a year old on the Net and insists that they have only been used a couple of times but never in anger.

Which one do you belong to ??

Standard power. Recently British laws limited fps to 328 and below, so all those "h4x0rs" with their "ub4r l33t" high fps weapons had to depower them all anyways...

That should either be "More power" or "Mid Power." :)

I usually keep the box, until such time as I get sick of tripping over them.

I keep the manuals in a binder for refence purposes. I usually wipe my gun down... 2-3 weeks after using it. :)

Batteries stay charged untill the day before I need them, then they get discharged and recharged. I do a slow charge after every 1-2 fast charges.

I usually clean the barrel every 6-9 months or so. More often if playing in a particularly dirty/dusty environment.

I upgrade my guns slightly (350fps max.).

Any other questions?

I fall somewhere in between these two categories… Each box ended up in the trash, the warranty was written in Greek and therefore utterly useless. Even if it were in English, id toss it before giving it a second thought.

As far as gun maintenance is concerned, I treat these guns like a real one. They get lots of love both on the field and off. If they were el-cheapo’s , I would not even care, but these toys represent an investment that I don’t care to replace anytime soon.

Battle damage (Scratches) isn’t big on my list, but it comes with the territory. Even my double barrel shot gun shows wear from many trips at the local duck pond and Pheasant field.

The S.P.C. (Std. Power Clan) people I categorized are those who want to keep their gun in the same condition, always and forever, like the way it was when it came out of the box. This way, 700 years from now, the Airsoft gun will be worth about a million dollars in today's dollars.
