Post subject:  Converting a Pulse Rifle, some questions

Hi guys. I've been thinking of making a Pulse Rifle, and was pointed to this site for some advice. Was hoping you guys could answer a few queries.

ActionHobbies currently has the two-tone model for £180, and I was wondering if I could swap the coloured shrouds for Matsuo ones (or similar - don't really know how many people make shrouds), just a straight swap. I don't know how similar they are, so I thought it'd be better to ask first.

I was looking at taking the Snow Wolf rifle and adding a shotgun, but the fact that the battery goes in the launcher compartment makes me worried about where the battery will go. I haven't seen anything mentioned about Lipo batteries - could a small one fit somewhere besides the launcher or stock?

On the shotgun - If I do add one, I wasn't sure if a shell-ejector was a good idea, or making it "skirmish-capable". I was toying with the idea of the latter, using one of the springer 870 models. These use magazines that go where the loading gate is on the real shotgun. Would this be able to work in the PR? Only thing I can think of is if the mag release is covered by the SPAS assembly, but I'd like to know if there's something I've missed.

Thanks for reading.

All very doable but look to budget to spend about about a grand if you want it shell ejecting. if you want shell ejecting shot gun your choice is maruzen or tanaka. tanaka are better as the shells contain the gas, the maruzen shot gun needs a custom gas tank to fit in the shroud. You then come to the fact that the spas cage is to small and you'll need to up grade to real steal, which means you need a mounting kit and front end. there is room to fit a micro lipo in the shroud. you would possible be better getting a Thompson and starting from scratch. You also mentioned buying a two tone if you don't have a defence against the VCRA converting it will be illegal.

Thanks for the advice. I do have a site membership so can buy RIFs, it's just that the two-tone one is going cheap, and I was wondering if it'd be just as good to buy that and fit a new shroud instead of going for the proper coloured one.

EDIT: Been reading some of the older threads, and I see your point about price. I'm planning on getting this one to have a PR for now, but I'm planning on building one over this year like you suggested. Would it be better to paint the two-tone or just straight replace the shrouds?

Where would a mini-lipo fit in the shroud? Not sure where there's room, looking at the pics in this forum.

Hi all! Corporal Hicks (Aaron Percival) from AvPGalaxy here! First time post here. I've also been looking at getting one of the two-tone Pulse Rifles. However, I'm terrible with painting so I'd come over here to see if any of you guys had any custom paint jobs on your own kit because I'd probably need to send mine off to someone with talent and I immediately thought of Alien Legacy and UKCM.

An other thing I was toying with was a completely custom paintjob. I know you guys like screen authenticity but I was thinking like digital urban, digi woodland. Stuff like that. Has anyone here ever done that? I had a flick on Google but I couldn't find any original designs on Pulse Rifles.

Well, the new game has opened up a lot of "Game-accurate" options, pretty much all of the patterns you mentioned are in there :)
