The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Got charged £9.70 VAT and £8 handling, however the package is cleary marked as a gift of $60 which should mean no customs fees - so i'm gonna contact em and question that!!

Item itself had been opened but not damaged. The gun appears to compare well with a TM (revs) I handled recently, though the grip is a bit creaky and the magazine is really tight to insert/remove.

Seems a good buy for the money and the transaction with RSOV was problem free.

I haven't tried one yet but apparently the TM 190 Rd mags are compatable with this version too so that's good news.

Cheers

Yeah I have a TM '20rnd' mag and it fits fine. Haven't shot with it though I read it will.

Just got a few Parcel Force customs letters

One is from the US which could be anything right now but one is from HK which can only mean my Thompson!

£17.70 inc £8 "clearance fee" can't be bad ;)

At least they're consistent. I guess I just lucked out on this one and didn't incur any customs or Tax. I'm sure I'll make up for it with all the other stuff I ordered recently though :(

WOOT! Mine's arrived and it's very nice.

I haven't handled a TM myself but can't imagine them being much better and for the extra cost I don't care either :D

Agree with Sidewinder; the magazine is pretty tight to fit and the grip's a little creaky - will see how it is once it's been replaced :D

Funny thing really, my Hyperdyne counter, light and sound boards and the M40GP from the quartermaster also arrived so I can start building right away (I've had my GP kit for a few weeks now)!

I've inserted/removed the TM short mag quite a few times now and it is easier, you can see where the paint is rubbing off the ACM's magwell area - guess its that makes it sticky.

I think their urls must have a session cookie reference built in, as they keep moving.

That latest link is correct, for now.

What extra mags should I get if I'm gonna convert it to a working airsoft PR? Are there high caps at the same size/length as is needed to fit in the PR shroud?

You need the 190 round mid-cap magazines. There are none available yet from CYMA I think but I have read that the Tokyo Marui ones fit fine.

Cheers

I've got one of these coming too. Once it's here I'll be fitting my MiM shrouds and SD metal parts around it.

I'll have to grab a 20 round magazine as well from somewhere.

Looks like rsov is still cheaper than Kapowwe for US customers to the tune of $25, even with extravagant shipping costs.

...assuming there will be no import taxes (I haven't been hit with any yet).

I noticed the Kapowwe entry mentions the gun has all the proper Thompson trademarks. Kinda worried if I order from rsov, the trademarks will be ground off as is often the case when importing from Asia to the U.S.

Mine just arrived.

No import charges and boy did it get here quick! :)

It looks like a nice piece of kit, although it's a shame that it didn't come with any BBs and I didn't pre-order any so I've got nothing to shoot at the moment. Not really a big deal though as I don't have a cat anyway. (Kidding!!)

Also It'd be nice if the bolt moved back & forth while it's firing, but I'm a purist after all! LOL!

There was a thread about somone who modded the TM by cutting a hole in the side of the mechbox and adding an attachment so the bolt DID cycle with the firing. It was kind of an ugly job, and I couldn't help but think there had to be a cleaner way of doing it.

Cheers Russ. It's not a deal-breaker but it'd be nice. Probably not worth potentially wrecking the mech-box for though, but it's definitely something to look at in the future.

I'll have to study the Airsoft forum a bit more now I've finally got one, I have a lot of questions about how to turn this into a PR!! :)

These 430 rd mags won't fit in the PR shroud, then?
