The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

For anyone looking,

I had my PR project going for about 4 years now, I would assemble / disassemble and plan for upgrades and modifications. I first bought a Hyperdyne System PR Counter / Sound Board and had very good service from it for quite awhile...good boards, but I was looking for something a little mo' better. I read some of the posts for the Replicant FX Module and decided to make the jump. I received it last Friday and "played" with it for awhile...trying different configs for the effects. Well...I managed to get things really screwed up and the sound board and counter wouldn't function correct...or at least what I wanted it to do. I contacts Tim Shilling (Replicant FX "CEO") and explained my "special need" to him...the man was "Johnny on the spot" with the correct fixes and mods for what I wanted...All I can say is that his product is top notch and his Customer Service is absolutely OUTSTANDING...So to all you "Grunts" needing a counter / fx board...GET ONE !!!

My PR kit is in the mail. I also had him make up a FX setup for my MT. He was quick to respond on my custom order and came up with something that will put a personal spin on my MT.

Yea Doc

It's the bomb...fully costomizable...I imported different sounds from my collection of scifi sound effects (GL would play the Photon Torpedo from Star Trek, Blaster from Star Wars for the PR...etc.) had alot fun with it for the different sounds. I couldn't do that with the Hyperdyne unit...all the rest of you Grunts better get your DD Form 1311 in before long...nough said !!

darkchylde80,

Glad I could help...I'm a firm believer it shouting from the mountain top when I find a product / service that meets or exceeds my expectations...Tim did that and more, hince my endorcement of his product and service...and the fact that you can customise your sound files to suit your taste...make it very personal / unique.

My PR is currently disasembled...again...which promted me in getting the new FX Module for the project...the project you're wondering...think of the PR on steriods 25 years into the future. Yea, I'm a EU type.

I recieved my ReplicantFX soundboard for my airsoft PR build a few days ago. I love it, but what a mess of wires! Has anyone actually installed theirs yet? I'm thinking this was made for one of the resin PR's not an airsoft version. It's going to be fun fitting all the components inside.
I have a resin GL from Matsucorp. I may mount the two boards inside the tube for the airsoft battery pack. Insulated of course. I'm not going to use the switch for the GL "rack" as it's kind of um, weak. The movement of my resin GL makes a better sound. The other sounds are pretty darn good though. The absolute hardest part is finding a place for the speaker. I'm thinking in the shroud, above the barrel vent, facing forward.

If anyone has put one in an airsoft PR I would love to see pics. If not then we will wait for mine. 8)

Oh and hats off to ReplicantFX. The shipping was fast and they responded lightning quick to questions I had emailed them. The boards themselves were well packed in plastic cases and padding.

I have a G&P PR and did the RFX kit.. First thing I did was remove the airsoft brass barrel. It is a mess of wires.. I pulled the moter and ran the wires for the trigger to the FX kit. I put the speaker in the shroud using adhesive velcro. The main board is in the area where the battery would go. I also cut and reattached them to the plug so I could run LED wires from the barrel into the housing via the area where the G&P BB counter went. Don't have a lot of pictures.

Here you can see the LEDs

Here is the switch for the grenade firing. Also just an FYI.. I too don't have the racking the launcher switch installed. I can only fire 3 times (grenade) and have to reset by turning the unit off and back on. I will be adding the switch back to the system when I have time.

Gotta love the G&P kit. I bought one completed for about $500 a few years ago and then sold it to a guy in California that works for a movie studio.

There is a bit more room in the G&P kit than there is in my resin shrouds and resin GL. My GL is somewhat hollow but filled with working bits as well of the 870. It has an aluminum tube ment to hold the battery under the 870 barrel. I'm thinking of removing it and making a tray out of sheet styrene to hold the boards. The problem is running that ribbon wire for the counter from the GL to it's mounting spot. I have no problem lengthening or shortening the wires to any of the other switches to get them to fit.

You say you removed the motor and hooked the wires to the trigger for the switch. Can you give a little more detail on this.

On the TM clone the motor is in the hand grip. I pulled off the hand grip and removed the motor. I then fished the wires that went to the motor back into the housing and ran those to the FX board. When I pull the trigger it activates the FX board instead of powering on the motor.

O.K. now I got it. I was a little tired last night I suppose. I'm going to work on that today. I removed the guts from my GL last night and there seems to be plenty of room in the bottom for the boards to go. Now I just have to get the courage up to start dremeling out spaces for the components to fit into. Thanks for the info.
