The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I have been doing some snooping on web sites about PR builds. On one it talks about adding a $3.00 relay (I think) so the counter counts down when the trigger is pulled. I'm looking at doing the G&P PR build and it comes with a barrel BB counter that makes the display count down when a BB passes the sensor. Is there a way of making it count down with the trigger instead?

That was probably my site with the relay info. Unless there's others. :)

Why would you not want to use the existing light gate?

Keep in mind that dry firing an airsoft gun is just as bad as dry firing a real steel piece.

The only down side to the G&P counter is that it will only count down when BB's are actually being fired. Dry firing won't make any difference, it still won't do anything.

If your only using this as a prop and not for airsofting then you could always replace the counter entirely. There is already a handy place for putting the 9v Battery and wiring one of the many counters available to the trigger is fairly straight forward.

If you know a bit about wiring then it should be possible to wire a circuit that will bypass the electric motor when the trigger is pulled and only operate the counter.

The problem being that this counter is designed to only count down when it "sees" a pellet go past the light sensor.
I'm sure there is someone on here that can say if it's possible to "simulate" the pellet electronically and fool the counter into counting down though.

Long story short, if only for prop (or trooping) use then the simplest thing to do would be to replace the counter.

Cheers

Darren

Thanks guys.. Yes I will only using it for Trooping and displaying. Didn't think about just by-passing the motor to activate the counter. As far as my knowledge about wiring.. I know enough to be dangerous.
