The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Don't say 'by pressing the trigger'! ;)

I just bought a TM M1A1 20-round equivalent magazine and thought I'd try it out.

I put a few BBs in it and wound the wheel at the bottom (I always wondered why the G&P PR magazine bases had that rectangle cut out of it!) but when I tried to fire them nothing came out.

The BBs are all still in there but I can't get them out.

Help!

Harry

At the top of the mag where you can see a BB poking out, there should be a little tab that stops them coming out. Point the mag downwards away from your eyes (and preferably into a container) and use a fingernail or screw driver to pull the tab back. If it's a mag with a wheel (clockwork), it may be impossible to get them all out without dismantling it.

Or is there a trick with Thomson mags?

You need to put quite a lot of BB's into the mag before it will feed properly.

Someone who knows what they're on about will be along soon ... lol

Thanks Gareth. I should have mentioned though that there isn't a BB poking out of the top of the mag. Have I not put enough in?

Yup :)

Are you sure it's a 20 round mag with a winding mechanism? Normally clockwork ones are hi-cap (150-600 BBs). Try filling it, then it should feed when you wind it. (Then you can try emptying it lol). Oh, and you need to hold it "the right way up" when you wind it for it to feed properly (ie wheel down).

It holds 190 BBs but what I meant was it's the same size as the 20 round M1A1 magazine.

did you wind it till it started resisting. if you turn it up side down and open the loading hatch it should work as well on the high cap same as the low.

And don't forget Harry that when you wind the magazine, you need to hear a "Click Click" sound that happens when the magazine is wound full. The gun may not fire properly if you don't wind it up enough the first time.

I tried the armour on the other day and it digs in a bit at the bottom at the sides. I think it must have shrunk since I bought it from Nick-a-tron! I need to attack it with a heat gun apparently to make it fit my 'sturdy' frame a bit better!

Not sure if I'll be bringing the armour to D-con but I'll be wearing my USCM supplies BDU and am breaking in a pair of boots at the moment. Oh, and my UKCM patches are due to be sewn on soon too! :)
