The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Post subject: TM M1A1 - fix or convert

I bought my brother a TM M1A1 and he broke it. He and his buddies would have a few beverages and the rock and roll on full auto, dryfire, reuse bb's, and never release the tension on the spring or clean or lube. So he gave it to me to fix and I lent him my ICS M4, which started having problems so he gave it back to me. Did I mention he is my kid brother?

So I decided to just keep both, which begs the question; What do I do with the M1A1?

I have tried the battery, fuse, charger so I think the motor needs replacing.

Any money I spend fixing it is money I can't spend converting it to "our precious".

So, how easy is it to replace the motor, mech box ect? Should I send it out try it myself? Where is the best place for parts?

Or, is anyone still selling/making the M41A kit? All the charter links show out of stock.

What exactly does it do when you batt it up and pull the trigger?

Joe, replacing the motor is dead simple. The bracket that holds it to the mechbox is secured by one or two bolts. Disassemble, remove the motor and bracket, insert new motor, reassemble. Done.

There's a seller on eBay... I think it's eVike, or evike.com, they always advertise the G&P conversion kit.
