The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

$385 - KRISS Vector (GBB) All the coolness of Gas Blowback and the higher reliability of pistol mags.
$300 - WE M4 (GBB) My personal choice on the battlefield.
$215 - KMP9 (GBB) I have two friends that rock these and they are very cool.

Of course, all of this shows my preference for gas blowback, but then, considering this forum, there is only one real choice:

$360 - Aliens Pulse Rifle On sale RIGHT NOW for $215.

But really, things have come far enough along that there is not much more needed than a just-above-entry level weapon of your choice - go with the one that you always wanted. The only other factors to consider are:
- 1 - What type of field do you play and what are their restrictions?
- 2 - What other gear do you need to get?

Same. Although More MILSIM=More WIN in my book (minus the ditch digging), therefore more recoil is better.

Go with the Kriss, it's just obscure enough to be able to be used in Sci-Fi conventioning - more RPF than here, but if you went with a Total Recall theme to any events...

Although you don't seem to have any BLOC weapons, AK, SVD's or any grenade systems, 203/GL6 or the revolver version. How about secondary/sidearms?

Rich,

I have a Marui Scar Heavy, and I'm very happy with it.

Main thing is the no dry firing.

With all the features, it adds to a better user experience.

ive had most weapons out there. been playing airsoft since early 2003.

what do you like doing? kicking in doors and shooting people in the face? or shooting from a distance?

great starting one is the tokyo mauri M4 style. accuracy is good, low fps, great looking body, GREAT internals (ive never managed to break a tokyo marui gearbox) and tons of accessories. there are about 12 million different accessories for marui guns.

EDIT: check out http://airsoftgi.com/ they have a new players section that is freaking great.

as well as just great selection and reviews.

Cheers guys
I've decided to go for the Marui recoil shock Sopmod. Had a play with one last week and seems quite a nice bit of kit.

I use a GBBR for CQB(mainly 'cos i love seeing people run from the big scary bangy thing as it echoes through the buildings), so I'm going to pop a new spring in the sopmod, do a LiPo conversion, then use it as my main woodland gun I think :)

The Marui recoil sopmod is really nice, A couple of the guys used them down in cornwall. A bit out of my price range at the second but I'd definitely quite fancy one. My problem is I already have enough G+P armalites to hold a cold war recreation group so I'm edging towards something fancy like a TM Famas or a long barrel TM Aug.

I love the Aug! I was tempted by the short barreled high cycle one
I didn't get the Sopmod. I do however have a Marui recoil Scar H and 6 mags on order though ;)
