The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Just been reading through some past threads regarding the Tanaka Remington M870, living in the UK poses a major problem with regard to obtaining a "real" M870, even a deactivated one is quite hard to come by, so my question is, has anyone here used the Tanaka Remington in there PR build to date ????? from the threads ive read, the fact the Tanaka uses the charged shell system is a big plus (no gas tank worries) plus the fact of its metal construction.

Credit card is at the ready and im about to commit to one as an alternative to the real deal, just wanted to hear anyones comments regarding the above being a good substitute ????

cheers

I haven't heard of anyone using it as of yet. To date most people wanting an airsoft grenade launcher section have used the Maruzen M870.
The Tanaka does offer a great solution in that there is no need to find an alternative location for a gas tank. With my own PR I was tempted to use the Tanaka but as I already had a Maruzen one it was too expensive an option to swap them.
I dont see any reason why it wouldnt work though and would be very interested in seeing the results.
There was some concern I think, about wether the Tanaka would be legal in the UK as the gas is stored in the shell but as I have now seen them for sale from UK retailers then I guess it must be OK.

Be sure to keep us posted if you do install one please

Cheers

Darren

I'm curious as well. The cost is almost double that of a reel steel 870... but you can't shoot your friends with a reel steel 870. Well, not more than once. ;)

Looking forward to a full review.

real steel are extrenmeley expensive in UK. Along with the slight problem unless you have the right paperwork, you go to jail. Go directly to jail, and do not collect £200.:)

Well it looks as if the requested review will have to wait, for now, i placed my order on the net, only to get a phone call the next day telling me there out of stock

made a few phone calls to other dealers but much of the same and at best, not back in for 6 weeks

Anyone here whos more familiar with UK airsoft dealers know of one in stock, please give me a shout.

cheers

Talked to the guys at Airsoft Extreme,

they said the performance isn't worth the price tag.

Looks like I'm still happy with my 27mm CAW grenade

build. Now, just need to make the bolt rack.

Do you have the 27mm Grenade in the PR launcher? Sounds cool! Any pictures?

Cheers,
Stefan

Hmm, interesting!
Is the grenade permanently build into the launcher, or do you muzzle load it?
How do you chock the 870 (or is this not necessary)?

Cheers,
Stefan
