The DragonCon Parade has contacted me - They would like any unused Parade Ribbons to be turned back in by July -


The Excess Ribbons have been Returned! We now have space for 25. (Down from 55 initially reserved) They inquired about the Color Guard and were Very Happy that it will still be in place for the Parade!

Marines,

I have decided to lead the troops this year. And here is why I propose this:

- With Greg the GMan not attending DCon this year, there is no one to lead the troops.
- With my friend Steph who has passed away, I just know I will start crying like a fucking child during the march. So, it's not going to work out.


I'd like to work something out really fun this year. And this will require some of the toughest ones of you who are willing to do a bit of PT, and not wear armour (or a flak jacket). I'll bring a bullhorn, and rise up the crowd (rather than yelling and lose my voice like every year), and periodically jack up one of the new "recruits" and make them do a few push-ups. Make this look really exciting.

As for the Colour Guard, I will not leave you out to dry. I am willing to lend you assistance before the parade to sort yourselves out if you need it. We've been doing this for years, so this is not anything new.

Dom, do you need a bullhorn? I have a compact one that I use for my Star Wars screenings that I can bring. I am also not sure if my husband will have armor by then, so he can maybe PT it? The UKCM have inducted him as their own btw, so he has the "seal of approval" I guess.....haha

And yes, I said Husband.......crazy huh?

Congrats. We're all getting married... growing up. I'm planning on bringing on bringing my own bullhorn because I have another costume for which I will need my bullhorn, but thanks very much for the offer!

Come on! I need some Marine who are willing to crank out a couple of push-ups on Saturday morning!

Though I have to say no to the pt! This is not the military and all for fun. If I have to do any I’ll be out of the parade. And the bullhorn is a bit much, it’s not in the movie so it shouldn’t be in the group. Just my two cents.

There’s plenty of stuff that people in our group are doing “that’s not in the movie” Emma, so that argument is a little thin. But you’re an adviser, you do a great job of it, but you’re not a Marine, so no PT for you. Don’t worry!

Hey marines, it's coming down to the wire now. We need color guard personnel big time. This year we can be flexible on uniforms. (Service Cs or fatigues/armor is OK). Please let us know what you would like to do. All posts are open: US flag, USCM flag, escorts. Thanks!

The Deadline is Coming Up. I'll be having to return the large number of unused Parade Ribbons. I previously had reserved 55, at present count, we have less than 20.

I don't know if it's the Economy, or the Room Rates or ? But our attendance is the lowest in many years.
