Just seen an announcement on the official Dragon Con Facebook page that the parade route has been extended. The route now starts a couple of blocks on the far side of the freeway next to the Hilton.

I just read the new route too. I'm thinking of ditching the smart gun for the parade and carry a medic bag full of water and instant cold smack packs for anyone who needs them. Would there be any complaints if I did that? For fan table and colony sweep I'll still have Fluffy bunny with me.

Rachel, our Xeno, would greatly appreciate it! We've already been talking about how to keep her hydrated, and the added route distance isn't too exciting for her.

My Xeno has a hydration pack full of ice water under the torso. It's worth looking into if Rachel can fit one in.

I have a medic style bag and instant cold packs on the way. I'm getting down there early so I'll get extra bottles of water and sports drinks. I'll volunteer to help keep an eye on a xeno too.

Ok. Guys here is what I would like to happen a clear a definite yes or no to pinups carrying the banner and for other pinups if they want to join to be in the back.

If yes, awesome, I'll wear the pinup and proudly carry the banner. If no, I'm OK with that too, it just needs to be a decision that we stick to and don't back out of.

I believe that points that were brought up is that any costume that does not readily fit in with what is a recognizable Colonial Marine should march out of ranks alongside or at the rear. So, pinups, xenos, bunnies, MLP Marines, etc, should not be excluded, but marching outside of the closed ranks so that they complement the troops, but not seen as part of the troops.

Updated banner should be done monday btw.

OK, so officially no to pinups carrying the banner. That's all I wanted to hear. As long as we do not have a repeat of last year and have another marine carrying the other side of the banner, I'll be very happy with this decision.
