The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Tony, I am not wearing a green hat with a blue skirt. In the Corps, women always wear blue skirts and either white or khaki hats. I am keeping it up with my white hat. Besides, I have time to try out some stores to try and find it.

Sorry, Scapey posted about the kilt, I assumed it was he.

So, edit...

We have other Marines who can join in, they just haven't spoken up, yet. I can think of Rex, Kevin, Derek, Sean, Bruce... Just need volunteers. At this point, not even sure if Jerome is coming this year.

I've got a Garrison Cap with my Service C at the moment but I've just bought a khaki 'bucket' cap. I'll decide nearer the time which cap I prefer.

Relax, ... but we are a make believe corps, loosely based on USMC.... emphasis on 'loosely'. So no need to be anal about what females wear. But wear what you like, no big deal.

Dom, flag bearers are aligned in formation. Yourself and escort are not part of the formation, but positioned to right flank.

I'm basing myself on Commonwealth formation. You may have different standards. Furthermore, Jerome will not be coming, so here's what it's looking like now... If anyone else in uniform chimes in, we can still represent France. Furthermore, if Kevin parades in uniform, we can substitute him for Canada.

I'm putting the women on the inside of the ranks as they have a more difficult time doing wheels on the outside. This was pointed out to me by Rebecca, last year.

Ah, John Craig AKA Claymore. Well, it wouldn't be fair for me to make him panted when he's threatening to be kilted.

Dom, looks good, but swap marines at #1 and #5. Escorts with US flag will be in same uniform, also wearing white gaiters over trousers. Doubt Rebecca can wear those in stockings.

Here's the issue with that. #5 is Rex Adams, and with all due respect, has no sense of cadence. The front rank with Aaron will be able to cover off from him and follow his pace by looking at him from the corner of their eyes, because: 1. You're a soldier 2. Rebecca has experience in marching. So, putting Rex up there may not be the best for him. From the second rank, he would be able to see you three in front of him and has a better chance of keeping in step. I'm also not incredibly sold on the gaiters. Are you dead-set on this idea? Can we go with a popular vote on this?

We will talk offline in detail regarding this. But keep in mind, if Rex is in front with me and Aaron, he has NO need to keep cadence. WE will set the cadence for everyone else. Everyone behind us watches our steps and copies. Much easier this way. Worked last year like a charm.

Yeah but I could do it in pants. My skirt just makes you boys look better. :)

That comment is so much more entertaining on this side of the pond.

I'm only bringing my Service C's this year as my Terry English stuff won't be ready by then i think. But, do you need another honor guard?

Thanks

Yes. If Kevin doesn't show, would you carry the Canada flag?

Yeah, if you need me for that i would happily represent the Canadian flag, Dom.

If not, i'll just walk with the rest of the grunts? Don't want to step on toes nor put off the positions?

Well, the goal for quite a while now is to have the entire honour guard composed of members in Charlies, so, this means you're in.

Reb, if you don't wear your skirt many marines will be on the warpath and con-geeks will leave the parade in tears. Please stick with the skirt, I'm sure the rest of the guys (especially the brits) will agree.

How does one volunteer to be in the color guard? Until I get the next batch of kit for my smart gunner, I am looking at making my Charlies.

Though the last time I did any D&C in formation it was 1997.

Lalum, just need to let us know when there is an opening. We are trying to create more positions (rifle escorts, and other nations). I think we are fully staffed this year, but next year you can be first on deck to carry the USCM flag or whatever, as long as there are no objections. I hope to get more poles in case more flags are added. I was suggesting the Georgia state flag, but I don't know if it will get by on popular vote.
