The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I know its a long way off... but Collectormania 16 Milton Keynes and London Expo are on the same weekend.. 29-30 May 2010 (collectormania runs a bit longer, 28 - 31 May)

So which one to go to?
Or if we get enough people we could attend both of these events ???
No guest have been announced for Expo yet , but the guest list for MK is looking good so far..

I was planning on London Expo, but that's mainly because it is closer and MK depresses me.

But, I don't really mind - Good idea to start thinking about it now, Glenn.

This will probably be my first drop of the year and I'm more likely to be going to Expo as it's easiest for me to get to on my own if need be. I guess it depends on the guests and how many UKCM peeps are going to be at each though.

I'd say I prefer Expo. Hyperactive anime kids are a better crowd than Milton Keynes shoppers ;)

Expo looks to have a LOT more pretty girlie guests for the Xenos and Ugly Motherf**ker types top scare the bejaysis out of....

Unless someone unbelievably cool and relevant to Aliens signs up for MK, looks like Expo is the winner.

I hate Anime kids.......

In for Expo. Even though the guest list for CM:MK is shaping up real nice!

Expo was my best memory of 2009; CM MK was close to being the worst.

OK. The masses have spoken. EXPO will be the "official" UKCM event on that weekend.

Now, we need to decide on hotels pretty soon but I'm happy to block book cancelable rooms on my card to ensure we all get into the SAME hotel! We have two known hotels in the area:

  • Ibis Excel - more expensive but it is right nextdoor to the event (onsite) and is usually the hotel where the UKG guys stay (that is a good thing! ;) ). Good bar. £90/night/room
  • Beckton Premier Inn - Cheaper, but it's a 10-15min DLR ride to the event. The bar is good and ASDA is close by. £60/night/room

Both hotels have only twin/double (two person) rooms. Last DLR runs at 0030hrs.

More Opinions please, people!

I would say Beckton, due to £30 cheaper, free parking, DLR journey is an easy door to door one (assuming its not affected by engineering works).

Dunno if I'll be along yet.
Work stuff.

However, I thought Beckton was one of the better places and pretty well priced.
Hopefully the train line will be running all the way to Excel this time.

Edit: Crossposted with Si.
Anyway... the walk'll be good for ya..... Character Building!!! :D

More than likley my first drop. Plus it's good to know that all my equipment is ready and on stand-by for a drop.

Just have to save my pennies!
