The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Yup, but with all the gear I'd rather travel under power.

If enough of us attend it might become like an 'official' event, similar to the Aliens screening a couple of years ago.

If not, I may just wear BDUs and carry the MT. 8)

Well, despite the price, it appears to be sold out for the moment. I dunno if they will release more tickets closer to the time? I don't see any reason why they would do it like that.

Not sure. I have a few people from work going to this who want to meet Abe, but the logistics of travelling alone with Abe are complex.

Well, i know it's tickets.

And if i knew earlier that it was my weekend off, Don Vito would have come.

I think a beer, pizza and Film4 is my karma for Friday!

Just got in, PVB down and clear. :)

Had a bit of a tortuous journey home; missed the last train at Waterloo, then got to Victoria (via the Tube) and missed the last one there by just a couple of minutes.

So legged it along to the coach station and managed to get on one to drop me off a few miles away from home and then a taxi ride the rest of the way. :)

John Hurt turned up at Somerset House and was introduced just before the film started. :)

The film was the director's cut (including the Dallas cocoon/egg scene).

The plushie facehugger and MT I took with me were popular. 8)

Nice to get to chat to Gareth for more than a few mins for a change. :)

Gonna watch a bit of the Ashes on Sky now and then off to bed. 8)

Likewise! Abe was on enforced bed rest, getting ready for D*Con.

I'm kicking myself that I didn't contact the organisers about it beforehand - she might have given me a heads up about John Hurt being there.

All in all, it was good. The soundtrack was heavily compressed (in the sense of dynamic range), probably to make it understandable in the echoey courtyard, but it did meant that I managed to hear a few sound effects and bits of quiet dialogue that I've never noticed before.
