Right then people. We haven't attended a MEM for ages, and it's usually a great show to meet up with all our friends from the UKG. Let's start a Readyline and sort out a hotel soon. Pug50 |

Few quick questions, if I may..... 1/. Which hotel/travelodge/thing are people using? Is there an official one? 2/. Are we meeting to set up on the Friday or Saturday? I don't know if we're displaying something or what, so.... 3/. Where will we be meeting up and at what time? I've not been to the NEC before. Ta, Woody. |

We normally stay in cheaper hotels a little way from the event. "Inn Keeper's Lodge" is a popular choice. At the moment, I'm not sure I'll be able to attend due to work so I can't organise hotel for this one. Friday/Saturday is up to the individual. I like to be there on Friday night to try and get another night of drunken social bollocks in. At the events, we *try* to be in costume for the opening time of the event, however I don't crack whips cos I am often the hungover late comer. We either locate each other by calling each other, or drive in convoy from the hotel. As for displaying ... MEM is one of the more difficult places to get a table at. But if people want to do the whole table thing, let me know and I'll try. |

Know the feeling mate. Just you keep concentrating on making those awesome video games young man, brightening the otherwise mundane lives of "those left behind!" [thread hijack] Jon, do you have footage of Glenn presenting that bust to Jon Hurt at LFCCon? Is it on the disc you sent me (I will check tonight), and if it isn't could you let me know (you could upload that clip to my server). [/thread hijack] |

I'm looking into nearby B&Bs. Prices for a single are around £30 per night. Twins look to average £40 per room. Will post more info when my list of enquiries is exhausted. BTW, list is loooooooooooong!! |

Just seen the Weapon Rules for this show... They state that large guns such as rifles or SMGs will not be permitted, except at the masquerade. How does this affect us? |

I don't know how people usually do this, whether it's the 'done thing' for everyone to book into the same hotel or what, but here's a list of reasonably priced accomodation nearby; Prices stated here are per night, single room tarrifs. See the webshites for full rates. Charges may vary depending on whether you go for basic room, or the fancy extras like en suites, TV etc. I'm happy to share a room if people are looking to twin up. Prices tend to be about 10-30% more for twins, but then divide betwixt two if they're per room, not per person. HTH, Woody http://www.blythewood.co.uk/ £40 Coleshill http://www.therailwayguesthouse.co.uk/contact.htm £35 odd B46 2JA http://www.jamesguesthouse.co.uk/ £35 odd Coleshill http://www.a1tourism.com/cgi-bin/h.pl?h=120738 £45+ NEC Grounds http://www.a1tourism.com/uk/beckyhouse.html £25 pp Sheldon B26 3UL http://www.a1tourism.com/uk/clovelly2.html £35 Solihull - 1mile to NEC |

We always normally try to stay in the same hotel where possible. Usually, we just decide on one nearby that's reasonably cheap and all book there. I think the problem with this one is that the people who usually spear head that sort of thing are either not going or not sure of their attendance. I will be going but most likely only for the day. If I get a good pay check this month then I might spend the night but i would have to bring my son with me so not sure yet. I will just have to book something last minute. I could always cancel last minute though I guess. I'll look into over the weekend. Cheers Darren |

I'm not entirely sure that I can make this. I have planned work at work on the Saturday and the holiday situation is sticky. I'll only know for sure by the end of next week. Pug50 (Doubtful) Woody (Ttaskmaster) PlasticPrincess Skapunkninja Friendlyskies (might just be for the day though, prob Saturday if so.) Sidewinder Data Woody, we know all the organisers of the events and they know that we have a responsible attitude to carrying our RIFs. Hence they relax the weapons rules for organised groups such as the UKCM and UKG. |
