The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hey guys :)

A while back I pleaded for mannequins. I am just putting this thread up to see just how many I am capable of scrounging. The target is 9 for my bit - don't know how many more may be needed for others?

If I recall, Harry promised 5 and Geordi promised 1? Can you confirm? Also, anyone else got any that could be stumped up for the UKCM display?

Thanks in advance :)

Peter

Is that just for your stuff Pete or for all the costumes that are planned for display?

Hey Pete,

I have two bust stands and one male mannequin that you can borrow for sure. I don't want to promise more right now as the other mannequins are up in the loft at the moment and I need to check out what there is.

I'll try to get up there and have a look before I leave for work tomorrow afternoon so you should have an answer soon.

If I have any of the plastic forklift pallets that I use as bases spare you guys can fight over them. I won't be able to promise anything until the HHACA exhibition is set up though.

Harry

That was originally a target to set up the following:

British infantry uniform (Children of Men)
Captain Pinbacker Icarus I uniform (Sunshine)
Harvey Icarus II uniform (Sunshine)
Harvey EVA suit (Sunshine)
Reaper uniform (Doom)
Duke uniform (Doom)
US Delta Sniper uniform (28 Weeks Later)
Mobile Infantry uniform (Starship Troopers)
Mobile Infantry medic uniform (Starship Troopers)

You reckon I should scale it down? :?

I've got a feeling that one of the mannequins I've got is female, which might not be any good to you. I'll check in the morning.

Ewwww! ;)

I've been in the loft to check what spare mannequins I've got, so I have available:

4 x Male mannequins.

1 x Bust stand, possibly 2 - depending on whether Dave Abberley brings his Apone flak jacket.

Pallets - TBC on the day.

No mate, I was just asking. I am bring my Pred costume but I have amannequin for that already. So wanted to know if that was one of the 9 you were talking about. Obviously not so it doesnt matter. More costumes for display the better I say mate.

BTW. I dont know what different poses people have mannequins in but I know that mine is not the best pose for displaying a Pred costume. If people are willing then I would be OK with my mannequin being used for something different if it meant the Pred was put on a more appropriately posed mannequin.

Mine is upright with legs close together and arms straight down by sides. Not very dramatic LOL

Cheers

I have the same {problem} with my Alien.

Paul sugguested having the Alien and Pred in poses facing off in the middle of the room.
However, my dummy has a bad habit of falling over, which is why I used to keep it in the corner, leaning against the wall for additional support.

So, like Darren I'm in need of a better dummy.

Funnily enough Andrew that's the same reason mine is in the corner, it needs that little bit of support LOL

Cheers

I don't know if I will, if I am kitting up a mannequin with my gear. I don't really like the idea of leaving the display behind if I'm off trooping... and if I do, it won't be complete as I can't yet fit my screen-used pants.

Sooo yeah...

Aside from that - my current plan currently looks like this, based on Harry's comments:

Doom Reaper - full length mannequin

Doom Duke - full length mannequin

Starship Troopers MI uniform - full length mannequin

28 WL Delta Sniper uniform (shirt, body armour, perhaps rifle) - bust

Sunshine Harvey jacket/shirt/comm link - bust

Sunshine Harvey EVA suit - full length mannequin

Leave:
Pinbacker uniform (Sunshine)
British infantry (CoM)
MI medic (SST)

You're spooling might be carp but we loaf you anniway geordi!

I've got a great spelling mistake story. I was working on a show in London's glittering West End and the sound designer took us all to dinner at an Indian restaurant just so that he could show us an entry on the menu that read something like this:

SHAHI BHUNA
Succulent pieces of chicken, lamb & king prawn cooked to our own recipe - truly an inedible meal.
