The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Does anyone have access to the MCM expo forum, I signed up about 4 weeks ago, but am still awaiting my confirmation.

Apparently theres a discussion going on about the UKCM squaring off against KOTE...

Si, can I borrow old painless and give the white boys a scare? ;)

I've just given them(Expo) an email prod about my registration confirmation so we'll see.

Painless will be in attendence, possibly in 'terminator' guise as its easier to carry and slightly lighter :)

Have you seen how much resistance white armor has to 3000RPM? None at all - heh heh heh.

Fal - Haddock slap coming your way boy!!! Its a Gatling-gun (or minigun), a chaingun is an entirely different thing.

Ska - at least you didn't dream you turned up naked, then you should worry!

Ah, no - a chaingun has a single barrel and the ammo is pulled through mechanically by a motorised chain drive to stop misfires or jams being a problem (the unfired round is simply pulled through and discarded) The AH64 Apache has one of these.
A gatling gun has 3-7 barrels, each with their own breech mechanism which are spun by a motor to acheive a high rate of fire without melting the barrels (eg. A10 thunderbolt)

I hate it when games/films etc. call spinny barrel weapons 'chainguns'. GGAAAAAHHHH!!!!

This was an infotainment broadcast by the M134 party :)

Oooooh. I was always under the impression that three-barrel chainguns existed with chain-driven rotation mechanisms. My bad!

Either way - any chance of a photo with it? <___<;

Don’t worry Quoth... we will show them the error of their ways!!
Are we going to have any members of the glorious 66th Reg at Telford or are all the UKCM/UKG members at another event that weekend?

A known fact my dear Alien Queen... but what you may not by privy to is the UKG now have their own regiment within the UKCM!
Under the command of Geordi "Mad Dog" Freedman the UKCM 1st Batt 66th Regiment "The Bucketheads" have been born!

We at UKCM HQ have made this move for two main reasons.

1. It allows all Garrison members to be part of the UKCM while retaining Garrison rules, conditions of conduct, standards of dress code and general professionalism before, during and after trooping. It also allows Garrison members to attend non-Garrison events (see above) as UKCM while retaining their Garrison status.

And more importantly...

2. It allows the other two Regiments... the 42nd Reg. "Hadrian’s Wall" and the 69th Reg. "Homers Hero’s" to be able to throw bread rolls and take the rise out of the Garrison without appearing to being petty or jealous.
It also gives us somewhere to put them... there’s too many of them for my likening.. With their standards... and their rules... and their impeccable reputations... blahh... just not cricket in my book!
It will also hopefully get the rest of us “non believersâ€

Pete, we are staying in:

Park House Hotel
Park St, Shifnal, Telford, TF11 9BA

(Beware, there is a "Hadley Park House Hotel" nearby. The name would be fitting, but that isn't the one where we are staying.)

You can book here: www.laterooms.com/en/hote...lford.aspx
(Other hotel bookings sites are availiable! ;) )
