The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi all the UKCM has been invited by the UKG to attend this event, free entry, changing area will be provided (possible free parking) there is a small list of caveats

1: For a list of attendees to be provided.
2: The attendees arrive/depart as per the times stated by the event organiser Sat 07:30-1700 Sun 08:30
3: They are available for the briefings health and safety, protocol
4: They uphold the etiquette that the event organisers require.
These may sound daunting but having experienced them myself I can assure anyone they are not

We have been given spaces for 12 costumers and 3 crew also if we need it a table has been allocated I will need to pass on the names by the last week of Feb

Big thanks to James Forder (caramac) for helping me get this going 80% him lol

So that wristbands register parking etc can be sorted with over 200 people to sort out these things take time

SATURDAY: 9.00am is the regular guest open hour. And 7.30 am is for (briefing) for Exhibitors.
The organisers just want the Exhibitors to be ready when the guests arrive.
Nothing new or uncommon if you have a table/join with other groups, which go through that process.
Look at the bride side: You are in early and without the regular waiting in the guest queue.

As has been mentioned before the early start is to sort admin, briefings and allow time for us to get kitted up and out ready for the early bird entry which is 08:30. Its a small price to pay for free entry (£11 - £30), free parking (£15 a day), secure changing, refreshments and not having to queue most of the day to get in. I know at Birmingham last year people were in the queue most of the day and then got turned away and never got in. I've been doing the big MCM events for a few years now and I think its great to get in early and not have to fight through thousands of people to get to the changing area with my kit. :D

Plus you get the chance to get to the head of the breakfast queue before the masses arrive!

Well, as you know... I shall be there, but I'll sign in under the auspices of the Garrison, saves taking up one of the slots here.

But I'll be there with the Alien, and maybe the new Marine if I get it finished in time (shiny shiny!.... and no, in all these years I've never quite managed to get my own name on a set of my armour...), and possibly the Service C's.
James will be there, and possibly the other James too.

I should be attending, probably with Pete too but seeing as our parents like to tag along for the experience and photogragy opportunities we'll be in the ticket queue. I appreciate the organisation that has been put into this but I will not be leaving my folks to queue on their own for possibly hours while I/we swan in at dawn and have the run of the place. That too includes my other half who may or may not be in costume. She doesn't do well with long periods of standing and we like the freedom to leave when we feel we've had enough.

I should be there too, but that early start is a killer, so I'll be in the queue as well. I also appreciate the effort people put into allowing us in at that time with the Garrison, and for future events it may well happen.

Please be aware that if you decide to queue with the public and are unable to get in due to the event being sold out, like in November, unfortunately you wont just be able to jump in on the Garrison invite and expect entry.

I often don't sleep well, and if I have a poor night I'll likely sleep right through my alarm clock, so the only way to ensure I'd be up in time is if someone phoned me about 6am. If anyone wishes to do that, PM me and I'll give you my number.

Matt

I'm coming, but on my own. I did consider it, but there's not much point bringing all the table stuff if its just me. But i do think its important to 'ambassador' from the UKCM.
