Hi Brothers, and Sisters,
Quite a few of you would have known Steve Rogers, if you were at an event he was at you could hardly not notice him!
Usually representing the RPB (Replica Prop Board) he, and others, would put on impressive prop displays and working demonstrations of prop making techniques.
Generous to a fault, a heart as big as he was, and no matter how crap you were feeling he'd cheer you up.
In the latter part of last year Steve was suddenly taken from us, far too early.
In honour of his memory there is a free prop party at the National Space Centre in Leicester, on Sat 12th March from 10am.
Displays, demonstrations and great company.

It is a free event but will be ticketed for numbers, the link is here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/steve-ro ... 1349397623
If you can make it and support Steve's memory with like minded friends then that would be bloody brilliant.
- Andy
Below is the copy from the Facebook event page:
On 04 October 2015 prop maker and costumer Steve Rogers wrote on his Facebook page "Just popping down to the hospital for open heart surgery, see you in a few days."
On 16 October we heard the sad news that Steve had passed away, due to complications with the surgery and a huge hole opened up in the community that only this big man could ever fill.
We want to celebrate his life, so on 12 March, Steve's Birthday, we are going to be doing all the things Steve loved and we want you to join us.
Come along and see maker workshops, armour parties, costume exhibitions and hands on advice.
Meet makers and costumers, ask questions, share techniques and understand how to take you projects forward.
Vac-forming
Space Marine building
Foam fabrication
Prosthetics and make up demonstrations
Whole body sculpt
Making helmets (including VM2 talk)
Slush casting
Prop building
Soft costume making
Mould making
Steve loved making props (he was damn good at it too), but he also loved sharing the knowledge around. There is no time for politics and in-fighting, just making and having fun!
Tickets are FREE, we will be asking for donations on the day, but this is completely up to you and all money is going to a really good cause.
The venue and all the crew are giving their time for free, they just want everybody to come together and remember Steve and the amazing legacy he has given us.
In the evening we will be hosting a ticketed karaoke and BBQ, with a charity auction. Again, all monies from this will be going to a really good cause.
This event will be run in the John Egglestone Suite and Shuttle Suites. It does not include entry to the galleries, planetarium and Rocket Tower.
PLEASE NOTE - this event is free, but you will need a ticket as we have a set capacity. It is really important that if you book a ticket you turn up and use it. Steve knew thousands of people through prop making forums, events and costuming, we want as many people as possible to attend.
