A good bit of notice on this one, but I think this might be one of the "main drops" for the UKCM and we'll make a good weekend of it. Venue is Pecorama in Beer, Devon. http://www.pecorama.info/ - it is mostly outdoor but there will be contingencies for bad weather. It will be a general charity Sci-Fi event but we would be looking to do similar things to what we did at the Doctor Who event however the theme for our part will be Sci-Fi military in general so Aliens, Halo, SST, RE, and even maybe Turtles at a push would be welcome. We also have explicit permission for a weapons display. We could also be doing the Nerf firing range. So, who fancies it? Hotel details to follow once the Exewing guys confirm. |

Thanks for starting this thread Gareth, and for the support. ....and thank you to all the responses so far. Things are progressing nicely and hopefully we will have some practical, Hotels, etc, updates after Christmas. Speaking to Paul (Mantroon) last night, he came up with a great idea, if we concentrate all Sci-Fi military themes in one place and call it 'Warzone' Hoping to have it in the same area as last time and will strive to have more tentage. The event went very well last time and it was very kind of you guys to carry out a Doctor Who UNIT portrayal, hopefully given the events broad theme this time you can settle into a more 'natural' state of costuming. So, I guess we better get a move on with this. We are probably going to have a prop/weapons display table, maybe a NERF shooting range and possibly a photostand. Does anyone have any other ideas for stuff we can do in a large outside area? |

maybe a kids treasure/bug hunt. find clues/items hidden around the event, which eventually lead to Abe the friendly Alien. Rescue the lost ODST Nerf range Gunny Rich's Marine boot camp - run the sprogs ragged over a makeshift obstacle course |
