The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I will tell you now, one of the best budget hotels I've ever stayed in!

Any word on if we can get discount tickets yet?

That's not a bad price Dan.
I normally end up at the Union Jack Club which is £60 per night, but on LFCC weekend I spend so little time in there that, whilst it's very nice, the rest of the facilities go unused. Being closer to the action would certainly be helpful.

May I put in for a tentative share request please. I'm waiting to hear if a local mate intends to come along, in which case I'll need to find somewhere with him since he doesn't know anyone else.
Though, I suspect that he probably won't come.

No problem Gareth.

Rich you are welcome to squeeze in with me and Gareth. I'm keen to have a few beers and some grub in the area.

So ... we have a table. And 10 free wristbands, over the weekend as a whole. Additionally, we will be able to purchase weekend wristbands at a reduced rate of £15. Free and discounted wristbands can only be picked up/purchased before show opening each day, and the organisers typically require that bands are attached to people as they distribute them.

The only way I can allocate them is first-come-first-served, and anyone who cannot be there before show opening on one day will not be able to get "special" wristbands.

Show opens at 6pm Friday - A couple of guys will be there to claim the table. Unclear if we will have any display or dressing up friday night?

Show opens 9am Saturday and Sunday. I will try to be they by about 7:30am to meet people and get them banded.

Additionally,

Can anyone bring anything to display on this table?

I wil be there Friday - Sunday and can help claim and set up the table.

What I can bring to display needs to be seen, but I will definitly come in costume and with props for display.

I will be there Friday evening possibly around 6 or later but will be there early on the Saturday. I'm happy to leave some gear on the table, can always have the helmet cam running on the table too.

I have the same problem - I can't get there before 6pm (show open) due to work, so probably won't be able to get in on the Friday.

As with the last one I did at Olympia, I can get there very easily from work before 6pm on the Friday and claim our table and paperwork. I will also be there first thing Saturday.

Want me to go over and sort it out?

I'm really not bothered about a free wristband, I'll just buy one off of them to make life easy.

I'm off all day in the Friday, Kim should be too. Plan was to train up early and get the table set up, and then bring all the display kit early Saturday morning. G, have you got all the banners at yours? Hopefully will have a new big cast sorted by then!

We will be up Saturday as early as possibly! I've got a plush facehugger and a few rubber ones for decoration.

With the weekend tickets is it £15 for all weekend? Put us down for two of those!!

It's a long ass way to come for you if the display stuff isn't even being set up till Saturday.

Last time I just arrived, there was a table with our name on it, I put the cloth on, set up our banners and leaflets and was out in 30 minutes! Most of the time was spent talking to the organisers, and they don't give/issue the bands till the next morning anyway (cause they don't actually GIVE you the bands as such).

Am I missing something, is there something extra expected this time round? I get the impression that Friday is purely a "confirm your presence" type thing. Without any gear to set up, it's gonna be in and out in 10 mins.

I'll contact you both tonight to talk but yes that's about it - I was looking at getting at least a black sheet put on to claim the table - I just can't guarantee I'll be able to get out of work early.

However, what can't happen is a half-dozen people turning up on Friday and bothering the organisers separately.

I will contact people shortly to discuss early setup.

Yea for sure, this just needs somebody designated to do so. I was only offering as I am both closest and free, to save any of you other fellas having to go well out of your ways to do so :) I really have no preference either way.

This kind of thing seems reoccurring. Now that we have designated Drop threads in their own room, is it worth having a template for the first post of each Thread that is updated by the Thread creator detailing the following:
- Where the Drop is (address, postcode, web site, nearest station if applicable)
- Arrival time and location for each day of the Drop (i.e.. 7am, West Arena entrance)
- Designated set up / liaison / responsible person for that Drop

I realise that this sounds terrifyingly like some level of organisation which is against the pure drinking culture of the UKCM, but it would certainly reduce the level of confusion with each drop, and stop people having to trawl the pages of a thread to find out where everyone has agreed to meet.

Opinions...?

It's only LFCC where this would be useful at this time.

It looks like I can get to LFCC on Friday myself now, so there is no need for me to delegate.

I'll be about at some point but I'm nowhere near ready to officially participate in the drop. Still but a lowly rookie! Regardless, I'll say hello and once again nerd out at the table, though at least this time as a marine (albeit a cadet).
