The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

ADC did you use the web link that Darren posted up?

Also that with one breakfast or any thing, Just a room.

Do you have any extras like internet?

Steve – Yeah I followed Darrens link and didn't specify breakfasts or anything else, but for some reason it came up as £45 per night.
Will send them an email to enquire as to why it was more expensive.

Afleck – I would prefer a Christmas dinner, I think it would be nicer and a bit more playful. But you raise a good point about the hassle of getting a fiver from everyone in advance, not really practical. I wonder if it's worth ringing them in advance to assure them we will be there, especially since some of us are already booked into the hotel?
But so long as we all get a meal it should be a laugh anyway.

Andy

No probs.

I don't mind either way about the meal, though I know Ranger Smith's vote would be for the Christmas menu. ;)

Do Aliens and Predators fancy another night in tuxedos?
If you're game I'll film it and it'll definitely go in the documentary because it would make a funny piece. Abe is up for it so if Preston, Percy and Alan don't mind pestering their handlers, too, then please post an affirmative on this thread. 'Cos I'll need to make camera arrangements.

In which case, do we all fancy getting smartly dressed for the dinner, or is that too much hassle? If we all wore smart dress like at the NSC ball, with maybe a little UKCM 'garnish' it would look really good on film.
Just a thought.

A

I'd be up for Xmas dinner. Darren, if you decide to go ahead, let me know and I'll give you a hand organising/chasing for cash.

I'll iron Abe's shirt.

For the meal i'm easy either way, tho if expression of a preference is required, i'd go for the normal me 'n' u.
Also, I don't do suits and Alan only does birthday suit.

I'm up for the Christmas dinner. Not sure about dressing too posh though, I won't have much room in my case if I'm bringing the gear you asked me to Darren.

OK, looks like we need to get everyone to state their preference

On the first list just confirm your attendance at the show by putting "Yes" after your name and "Booked" if you have sorted a room or are sharing with someone who has. We don't want to have to make anyone sleep in the gutter, tis Christmas after all

List of those booked at hotel and attending the show:
Friendlyskies - Booked - Yes
Sidewinder - Booked - Yes
DangerousRick
Skapunkninja - Booked - Yes
DATA - Booked - Yes
Pug50 - Booked - Yes
ADC - Booked - Yes
Harry Harris - Booked - Yes
Ttaskmaster
Kona
Pixie

On this second list confirm your attendance at the meal by putting "Yes" after your name and then state your preference
Choose from

"Stanard" for normal menu
"Xmas" for the festive menu (requires a £5 deposit from everyone and orders in advance)
or lastly
"No pref" - if you aren't bothered either way but bear in mind if the majority go for "Xmas" option you will then still need to pay a £5 deposit.

List of those attending the gruel:
Friendlyskies - Yes - No pref
Sidewinder - Yes
DangerousRick
Skapunkninja
DATA - Yes.
Pug50 - Yes.
ADC - Yes.
Harry Harris - Yes
saintadjg
Kona
Clanger 68
Clangertoo
Pixie
Mole - Yes
Ranger Smith - Yes

Hopefully this hasn't gotten too confusing... yet :)

Cheers

Darren

Blimey. It is getting confusing. Has to be a simpler way of doing this in future. This thread is going to be massive!

By the way, since the room information has not been passed forward, just want to remind people that DATA has two places left in his room for Friday and Saturday night.

Anyhow:

OK, so with 6 of 15 people opting for the "Xmas" menu and only 1 for "standard" it looks like the festive menu wins out.

Orders need to be taken in advance so if everyone could look at the festive menu

http://www.harvester.co.uk/site-media/downloads/menu-pdfs/festive-festive.pdf

and email/PM their choice for each of the 3 courses to me ASAP and then we can complete the booking. Richard has kindly offered to pay the deposit on everyone's behalf to make things easier. So the £5 from each of you will need to be given back to him. This is whether you attend in the end or not of course.

I'll give it a few days and then start chasing people for their orders.

Cheers

Darren
