The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

BDU's/Combats/Jeans.. We'll take anyone.. So the rumour goes.
We've had helpers wearing anything from Trekkies (Trekkors?) costumes to Goth hotties.

Sorry Jon, had to be said..;)

So, you don't want Sarah in costume for NSC? (not that I can convince her to, anyway)

I'm in.

Hopefully by then I may have the second PR (better... moving bits, with a sound/light board and counter etc) ready...

Are we on a guest list, or do I need to buy tickets?

Finally, is anyone going from Birmingham I can have a lift with... I have an ex-MOD Thermodyne display case for the (spare) PR but it's damned hooooooj and heavy. And I am only small :(

Plus it would be cool to have someone to natter to at the pub some time, I think my friends are getting bored of it all ;)

Depending what(if any) hard cases I get for my PR and armour, I may end up using trains to get there, but will let you know well in advance. :)

Sharing the driving duties would be nice though, as I hate driving long distances. :)

Hi Darren,

I'm HOPING to have my armour completed and cleared in time for the NSC. If not, at the very least, I should be able to attend in BDUs as background/helper. Will keep you updated.

Why does your armour need clearing?

Because phil is UKG and wants to clear it with the G

You know he wants to join the "UKGCM"

Yup, Geordi is right, as a member of the UKG costumes have to be cleared before they are put into service.

But regardless of the UKG, I'd also like to get my costume 'Approved' by you guys on here, as I value your advice and judgement on whether it will cut the mustard.

Will post progress pics over the next few weeks.

Oh, and Andy's bug is looking mighty fine!

Well if it's anything like the last one you did it will be stunning, not only cutting the mustard, but slicing the ham!

Cheers,

Andy

I have never actually laid out any "clearing" guidelines for UKCM costumes.

Except that under no circumstances should Mantroon ever appear nekkid!!!

Still not sure if I can do this - but a few more details would help decide - the NSC website doesn't have much of those. What time is the week-end starting/ending?
Also, are there news on a designated hotel for Marines?

Meh. Ferry prices are silly. Where are the Telepods? This is the future, we should have Telepods!

I still have the UKCM ID card template. If you PM a photo, real name, boardname location ect..

I can make some more up.

I think Harry might be doing some more cards like the ones last year which are specific to this event (but obviously can't speak for Harry so will have to wait for him to respond to that).

I am currently looking into getting some Lanyards made and may do some cards similar to the ones I did for those of us that went to FACTS last year. The lanyards may be ready for the event but I doubt the cards will be. They will not be specifically for this event anyway if I do do them but more of a general UKCM/USCM/Legacy type of deal.

Cheers

Darren

I have a drawer full of the WY badges from last year if they are needed.

As to the question about buying a ticket, if you are working you will be in costume and won't need one.

Last year's badges had the AL logo on them. This year I'm keen not to be exclusive so if they're needed this year I'll probably put the event logo on them.

Ok, I am now officially (bar accidents) coming. Wheee!

So, that's one Marine, on his cherry cruise Con, no experience of this sort of things, and not even a Pulse Rifle to his name (grmbl grmbl grmbl stoopid custom regulations grmbl grmbl). But I am willing to help with whatever I can - hold the display fort, fetch slippers, stand and look prett.... er... scar... er... French? Will that do?

I'm bringing a friend with me but I doubt he'll have anything USCM-related ready by then.
