The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

5th July is my birthday.... Much as a party weekend with you guys would be epic, I can't abandon all the family and my London buddies or I'll be in for a right telling off! Is that the only weekend available?

Kinda. It has to be during the school holidays, and not too close to Dragon Con, and the next weekend is LFCC.

Was looking into this but I think I will hold out for Nine Worlds. Tickets are still expensive but when they go down I am getting them right away.

Thanks!

So, we have a plan - and alas it is during the school holidays ...

Fly out on the morning of Friday 4th July to Alicante, fly back to UK on Monday 7th July.

Don't you mean it isn't during the school holidays?

School term ends about 23rd July next year.

Scottish schools and English schools are, I think, different.
Our holidays start June 25th.

Every local authority in the UK has different holiday dates - I originally planned it to avoid all of them.

Personally, I don't give a toss about school holidays but I was trying to consider other people.

I am going to fly out on the 2nd July and back on the morning of 8th July. Who can join me for the whole period or any subset of those dates?

Fly out on the morning of Wednesay 2nd July to Alicante, fly back to UK on Tuesday 8th July.
(Or any subset of those dates that you can manage)

Scapey's mother has a holiday apartment near Alicante here: http://goo.gl/maps/uei52
Accommodation costs will be negligible (I've been told £40 per 24 hours for the whole apartment)

I am unsure what the numbers are going to be but I plan to hire a minivan at the airport.

Flights are currently £130-150 from London.

The question is, who wants to come with me?

Readyline
Pug50 (2nd-8th)

Osmotic (2nd-8th)

Mum's gonna see if she can aquire some extra beds from somewhere for the basement, as it stands I think we have 2 double beds and one sofa. Will keep y'all posted - Since physically there's bags of room for us all! ( Still gutted they never turned the basement into a home cinema! I might bring a projector, although it's pretty bulky... )

Giger museum and bar is worth a visit but you wouldn't want to do more than a day and night in the village (Gruyeres). I've been there and everything is pretty expensive as Gareth says. The only other bars in the town are at picturesque hotels full of doting couples and worst of all, the Giger bar shuts at 8pm.

If I do come along I can bring my projector, it's small and portable and I can easily take it on as hand luggage if that helps
