The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Sorry, the organisers are only offering free entry for people in costume.

Oh well worth a try  I might pop down as a punter and hassle you lot as an RPB photo guy of course ,be good to catch up with you guys ,whats the entry fee by the way?
I will advertise on the RPB as well

Any idea when we'll know?

Work are getting arsey about people booking leave at short notice in March, as that's the end of our financial year, so everything's on the hurry up to get finished. :?

I'd have thought that since it may be in the evening and it's a special launch night that it will probably not be open to the public :? There was also mention of '"celebrities" in the first post, so I'd guess, from the limited experience I have of these things, that it may be invitation only.

Yes, good point Gemma. I think you may be right there. Usually
these things are invite only because they are purely for media
exposure. We'll have to wait until Gareth is back at the end of next
week before we can get some updated information.

I know he has been trying to get more details and is awaiting new information.
until we know otherwise it's probably best not to post on the RPB or anywhere else,
as it may just be a waste of time if people turn up and can't get in.

Besides, if Techno Viking is working security they'll never get past the front door

Just a small update:

I spoke to Terry today and told him that we've got quite a few folks interested in attending the opening.

Terry doesn't yet know whether the opening will be held during the daytime or evening, or whether we may have to limit numbers of UKCM folk attending. He's going to let me know as soon as he finds out, and I'll pass it on in this thread.

Harry

Without sounding funny, I would prefer if this was kept to people that Terry "knows" or at least, people we know well enough to securely vouch for.

The current list appears plenty AFAIK (Aliens is only one part of Terry's exhibition) and given the high-profile nature of the event, I'm nervous about loosing control of numbers.

Therefore, I'd prefer if it was kept to AL. I need a list of names to communicate to the organisers by Monday 23rd Feb.

I think Tango'd was just saying he would alert the RPB after it opens, so they can be paying visitors.

Hope so, anyway. ;)

I hate to be a pain, as I guess details aren't finalised, but is there a chance we will not be required?

I'm hoping we are but I gotta book time off work and train tickets, etc, and time is running out! :(

Cheers,

Andy

I hopefully should be there as a paying guest if all goes well. No costume im afraid yet, funds still short.

Be nice to meet you chaps for the first time.

I understand if its an 'invite only' to regulars instead of newbs or payees.

Any further word on that?

That's sad to hear Vicky, I hope things improve soon and that we see you soon too. We'll be thinking of you, and we're always here. :)

I just spoke to Terry and he told me that the opening will be from 6:30pm onwards on the 12th. I'm going to drop the owner of the Movieum a line to make sure it's okay for us all to attend etc. so as soon as I know more I'll post it here.

Harry
