The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

We are still looking for more sign-ups for this - partly because volunteers are needed for the event but mostly because it will be the biggest UK pissup on our calendar. And ... hot-tub! :p

For anyone on the fence about this drop, I'd highly recommend it

It's THE years premier *deleted by Black Op's* drop where you can kickback, relax and have fun with friends all at once. (and make money for charity)

I'd highly recommend the *deleted by Black Op's* and the *deleted by Black Op's* it can go on for hours.

It would be really nice to see some of the newer members try this one for size.

I hear Ms Bakewell-Tart has pledged to give any newcomers a welcome kiss (and possibly more). The little slut.

Typical. All the offers go to newcomers, instead of loyal customers!

I just realised that I had not updated this to specify the Special Mystery Event. It is, of course, Unity - and Kai has branded the whole weekend as The Geekender!

Unity guests will include Spencer Wilding (GotG, DW), Clem So (GotG, DW) and Terry English (Armourer on Aliens). Unfortunately, Trevor Butterfield is unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances.

Schedule:
Friday 3rd July - Food, Piss-up, Disco and Karaoke
Saturday 4th July - Unity Sci-Fi Family Fun Day, and then Comedy, Burlesque and Disco/Karaoke.
Sunday 5th July - Geek Night including quiz, prizes and buffet

Since this is being held in a pub, with evening burlesque and the inevitable hot tub shenanigans - the evenings will be strictly over-18s only.

Facebook details and event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1594119404180301/

This will be the UK geek community event of the year, and the UKCM's summer piss-up. Come along, dress up, help out, eat, drink and be merry!

As a new member I'd like to attend, but is there any overnight accomodation in the pub or nearby, and any idea of costs?

There is ample sleeping space on the carpeted floors of the restaurant in 3 large rooms. However, there is very limited bedding and only a couple of inflatable mattresses to argue over so I'd recommend you bring a sleeping bag and a inflatable/folding bed if you require one. There will also be outdoor camping space for tents/caravans.

There is traditionally no charge for crashing on the floor but there will be a modest charge for breakfast.

There is also a hotel about 5 mins walk from the restaurant - "The Grange Court" but expect to pay £75+ a night.
