The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Gunner Down and Clear (just) after a long weekend I decided to come home last night and had more nodding dog act than Churchill but I enjoyed every moment of this weekend. I hope that we can put something like this together again in the near future.

D&C.

You are all the most incredible people it's been my privilege to know, thank you.

Mostly, but not necessarily in order:
Mysterious queueing, sweaty setups, a victory of (Malika's) measurements, lots of screwing, just put shoes in the hole, the great (fake) wall of the NSC, electronic shenanigans, secrets of the black box, throwing Snickers at the problem, herding cats, in at the deep end, A Tale of Two Corridors, bedtime buddies.
To the Premier Inn and back again, Wild Boar Brunch, no ticket reversing, Shop!, Fuck technology - just ask someone, purchases, unexpected Supergirl, The Man in The Hat, Harry Krishna airstrike, Kai sold in to retail slavery, The Man With The Pipe, TOYSHOP NOOOOOOOO, Mounted Beaver, NSC AE The Two Corridors (LOTR style), yesterday's practice today, the Definitve Dean Cain, Vasquez on drugs, The Jug of Justice, sacrificial friends, flashing the scientists, hide it in the corner, it'll go in if you take a bit out, greasy spoon of joy, carvery farewells.

Just wanted to say thank you to you all for all your efforts over the weekend. I didn't get the opportunity to take part in the Bug Hunt but i did get chance to mingle, watch the movie and also have a bit of a chat with Trevor Steedman!

Big thank you to Glen and Gunner2163 who i chatted to for a wee bit and sorry i didn't come talk to more of you...hopefully on my next drop I'll be a little more gregarious!

P.S if you ever need to borrow an amp for a future event i have a small Laney Guitar guitar amp...it's not big but it can put out a fair amount of volume!

Matt and Ivy down and clear.

So proud to be involved in the weekend. Am at a genuine loss for words to describe how great it was, and how much the efforts of everyone (that at times went above and beyond), made something bloody spectacular.

Love you all. Big time.

Got back eventually with Tony despite ridiculous M1 Traffic!

Great fun, thanks to all involved and for the 15 "hugs" I got from Simon's Xeno

Binging terror to the general public was a truly epic experience - did anybody keep score on those that cried, wee'd, and ran in fear?

Down and Clear a while. Was too tired to log on last night.
Trip home was much faster. We lucked out on the traffic!

That was a fabulous weekend. Great company, fantastic sets. I think this was the best AE ever.

I think that this was the fifth or sixth NSC event and Alien Encounter that we've done?

I admit that I was a bit reluctant in the run-up to this, but it ended up being the best ever! I had feared that a "more discerning adult audience" would be hard work, but the AE was a blast. A fabulous time was had by all and we pulled together as one to make something amazing happen. I was in the AE most of the time but from what I've heard, the displays and shooting range in the main building were excellent too!

The only downside was arriving at the pub at 1am both evenings …

I can't thank and send love to everyone involved, so apologies if I miss people but…

  • Kev – the man that pulled it together.
  • Olivia and Malika – thank you for once again trusting us with your facilities, your reputation and your punters. Next year right?
  • Rich – the best croaky voiced Sarge in the world. I was a touch sceptical beforehand, but the extra cues and the magic jug in the AE worked perfect! And thanks for being My Little Godzilla too … ;)
  • Bruce and Kai – thank you for everything you both do to keep me ticking. Love you both. And the pipe is divine!
  • Mike Morgan – the guy that did one of the hardest and most hidden tasks in the AE, two nights in a row (in a room alone with a nasty strobe light) operating the secondary sound cues and the jug of justice to great effect! /] * [\
  • Frank – thank you for being my assistant/slave for setup and tear down. Thanks for making it over again and see you again soon!
  • Simon – he’s an Alien, a master-builder and a wonderful all-round guy… thanks for all your help and for fiddling inside my black box!
  • Harry Harris – thanks for bringing HHACA, and kit for the AE! Great to see you again.
  • Kris – the man who kept going to the end, even when his hair went full-Neelix…
  • Greg – major props for coming over the pond, and the only person in the world to do an Alien Encounter on two continents!
  • Trevor Steedman – thanks for coming, being our legit guest, bringing your family and being all-round-amazing – I’m glad to see you looking rather well!
  • Prof Gary Carabas – (you gotta change your name…) Amazing work as usual. You are the face of the AE and your waffle is second to none! ;)
  • The Science geeks in the AE – they just kept on going, including some very dramatic performances from Mandy and Kim
  • Sandy – amazing work as the cocooned victim. I never got to see you, but it sounded very effective!
  • All the Marines – whether it was getting nom’d in the AE, or looking awesome in the main building: great work people!
  • My fellow Xenos – HHHHSSSSsssssssssss <3

I never thought I'd say this, but … roll on next year! Watch this space!

Down n clear (as of yesterday) was abit too tired for a big ass waffle last night,
Just want to say thanks to everyone who made this event happen and everyone who was involved in the AE and otherwise, Also thanks for being so understanding on letting me out the AE on saturday night, those strobe lights really fucked with my head the following morning @.@ Still! A hell of a lot of fun was had outside the encounter, from hiding behind the van or bin when the punters came out and jumping out at them for one final scare (got some of that on video ;) ) To laying down for 5 mins in the weather pod (attracted a fair crowd too!)

Big thanks to Trevor and his two young un's for spotting for me with the Cliffe's and mark, Pretending to be a mannequin in the museaum was one of the funniest parts of the weekend.

And the movie being delayed and having to create abit of "entertainment distraction" for the planetarium was a blast! Poor Mark got boo'd for escorting Abi out of the movie for not having a ticket! :D

Love you guys! Also sorry we didnt stick around for the last meal of the afternoon, we went to the car to get some stuff and by the time we'd turned around we had no idea where anyone had gone nor were we waited for, but hey ho! Not to matter :)

If anything, this weekend has pulled me out of the whole:
"I wanna quit"
"Dont wanna Xeno anymore"
"Fuck off Abi"

Phase i'd seen to be going through, a lovley kick back into the hobby and her character :D

so cheer's guys! Love you all like family <3
