The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

So the parking is £15 for how long we expect to be there?

Depending how many can fit in the van (with all their gear as well), that might only mean £3-4 each.

I'd prefer to pay that than the DLR ticket and lugging all the gear on/off the DLR.

Discuss?

The offer still stands for ferrying the gear. :)

Cant lend you any alien goodies to put on a table if you do one because they're all going through various stages of being refurbished so to speak. Later on in the year no problem.

So what's the deal with the tickets? Don't want to queue all that time and then find out I could have got in for free?

Also, what time are people aiming to get there? And what's the plan for all meeting up? Will you meet before and all go into together or meet up inside?

I'm only asking as I'm trying to work out my timings for Saturday morning as I've got to drop babs off with the grandparents, drive to Watford to drop off the car (staying with friends), and get the train/tube in whilst fighting my way round the engineering works. I seriously can't see myself being there before midday. :(

Just noticed this lot on the TfL web site:

Quote:
CIRCLE LINE: On Saturday 24, Sunday 25 and Bank Holiday Monday 26 May suspended throughout due to planned engineering works. Please use alternative London Underground lines.

DISTRICT LINE: On Saturday 24, Sunday 25 and Bank Holiday 26 May, suspended between Embankment and Whitechapel due to planned engineering works. Please use alternative London Underground or London Buses services.

HAMMERSMITH & CITY LINE: On Saturday 24, Sunday 25 and Bank Holiday Monday 26 May, suspended between Liverpool Street and Barking due to planned engineering works. Please use the District line between Whitechapel and Barking. A replacement bus service operates between Liverpool Street, Aldgate, Aldgate East and Whitechapel.

METROPOLITAN LINE: On Saturday 24, Sunday 25 and Bank Holiday Monday 26 May, suspended between Northwood and Watford, and between Moorgate and Aldgate, due to planned engineering works. Replacement buses operate between Northwood and Watford (via Rickmansworth, for train connections to/from Moor Park). Amersham fast trains will operate as normal.

NORTHERN LINE: On Saturday 24, Sunday 25 and Bank Holiday 26 May, suspended between Burnt Oak and Edgware due to station refurbishment works. Connecting buses operate between Burnt Oak and Edgware.

DOCKLANDS LIGHT RAILWAY: On Saturday 24, Sunday 25 and Bank Holiday Monday 26 May, services are suspended between Bank/Tower Gateway and Poplar/Canary Wharf due to Investment Programme works. Replacement buses operate between Bank and Canary Wharf via All Saints and Blackwall.

A ticket or Oyster Card valid on DLR is required before boarding replacement buses.

During these works, train services operate as follows.

Blackwall - King George V
Poplar - Beckton
Poplar - Stratford
Canary Wharf - Lewisham

Please note a revised Saturday service operates on Bank Holiday Monday 26 May.

Looking at the DLR layout those works won't affect us?

Only if you're arriving/travelling home over the weekend and need the section between Canary Wharf and Tower Gateway (like I will on Sunday).

Looks like the best bet is to use the Jubilee Line, as that'll take us from Canning Town (DLR) all the way to London Bridge (east section of Northern Line), Waterloo (Bakerloo and west-Northern Line) and Wesminster (but Circle and District Lines will be closed).

I'll be going home from Waterloo then.

Edit:

Map showing the main problem of part of the DLR and the entire District and Circle line closures:

Sparmour
Spelmet
Shoulder lamp
Medikit/emergency repairs kit (for anyone to use)
VP70
Resin Icthia shotty
Plushie facehugger

I have done my own route coming back i got to get off at Canning town DLR then take underground then pick up DLR from canary wharf to Greenwich , then take the train home.....though i might look at a another route tonight,

now to find which is the right ticket to buy..

Go the same route I am.

I'm sure Charing Cross trains (which stop at Waterloo East) stop at Strood.

Edit: Just checked trainline.com and they run every half an hour to Strood from Waterloo East. So you'll need to get on the Jubilee line from Canning Town and then get on the same train as I am at Waterloo East. :)

Edit 2: I'll probably just get a 3 day Travelcard, to save time having to queue for tickets every day.
