The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Anyone interested in going this year?
I'm taking my jeep this year, so I can get people in at a reduced rate of £30 per adult, £20 child. This includes show entry for all days, evening entertainment, and camping.

There is however, a £30 parking charge for each car. So parking up elsewhere and car sharing into the show would be a good idea.

Colour me interested. Claire, too.

We *might* be able to score a couple of parking spaces at her parents place, just down the road in Paddock Wood, but don't hold me to it just yet...

I was going to enquire about getting free entry for this, but I think it's between Bob Hope & No Hope as a someone would say ...

I fancy going, costume or not. I suppose Abe would be missed now if he didn't attend ... ;)

Free entry would be awesome, but as you say, it doesn't look likely.
I get in for free anyway cos I'm taking the jeep :p

If abe wants to come out to play, I'm sure I can break the marine gear out for a few hours :D

Free entry is a no for this year via the way we got it the last 2 years anyway.

Put me down for 2 adult places Rich, including camping. Do you know if that will be in the same Support camping area we have been in before or just in with all the general public?

Cheers

Darren

£30? Thirty quid for car parking? People must be mental if they pay that...

The cost of the ticket isn't just for parking, it's also for camping. It also cover the entire five days that the event runs and not just one day. Like any event, if there were no tickets then chances are there would be no event.

It's a really good show, have been for the last two years running and I will be going again this year as well. Drinking, BBQ's, maybe dancing if your into it; or just more drinking in the evenings and massive amounts of stuff to see during the day. Tis a good one and would be great to see more people there again this year.

Cheers

Darren

i think 1 day is about £20, including parking and show entrance.

I need to apply for passes soon, and i need to pay upfront. So im going to need definate numbers and some money fairly soon.
Its £30 per adult (normally £80!!!)
If you want to park your car, theres also an upfront charge of £30 per car and i'll need to know your car details. Im sure theres lots of offsite/public carparks around which will be cheaper, and the site is close to a couple of train stations. we can come and pick you all up in the jeep from wherever you end up parking.

Thanks Darren.

I'm guessing it would be rude not to bring Abe along and give him a little outing at least? ;)

Running hella late, but is there any chance I can get in on this? Turns out I'll be in Kent when this show is on.. so I might take Abetours if that's possible?

No problems. As always, work restricts when I'll be able to attend. It will either be late Friday to Sunday afternoon or early Sat to Sunday afternoon. I'll let you know closer to the time.

Jake, tickets had to be preordered in advance, so I doubt you'll be able to get in for free now. You might be able to get away with not having a ticket, but at worst you'll just need to pay £30 for a last minute support crew ticket.

I was about to PM this, but it's just been made public knowledge...

As you may already know, there's been a lot of fuss and disappointment because the W&P organisers have f**ked off the USO guys, who had enough and refused to attend this year.

However, there will still be dancing & entertainment at some ticket-only events:

There are ticketed dances on Friday (Jive Aces @£12.50) and Saturday (Bill Baker’s Big Band @£15.50) which can be booked through the Hop Farm.

I know it's expensive, but is there any interest in these?
If so, either I can volunteer to organise, or you can sort it yerself here:

http://www.thehopfarm.co.uk/events/163/ ... jive-aces/
http://www.thehopfarm.co.uk/events/164/ ... -big-band/

What are your thoughts, guys and gals?

That is expensive compared to completely free like normal lol

The site doesn't say if children are allowed or if they have to have a ticket as well. Kaan will be with ne so to be honest, if he needs a ticket as well, it would probably be too expensive for me and if he's not allowed then I won't be able to go anyway.

The phone line listed is shut till Monday now so can't ask either.

I say we all take a bit of wood, cobble them together and make our own dance floor ;)

Cheers

Darren
