The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Its going to be May 4th - 7th in Milton Keynes.

Reverend, seeing as you have made contact with Showmasters, do you want to try and blag us a free table and/or free entry? If you don't, pass Showmasters on the info@colonialmarines.co.uk e-mail addy and i will attempt to butter them up.

I'll be there.

Which means 4 so far, being

Friendlyskies
Mantroon
Skapunk
Burnt Kona

Now I'm sure we have an alien lurking on here somewhere that enjoys a bit of the spotlight. :P

Might even have my Alien Costume ready (yeah right)

They say that "Not all guests are appearing on all days, appearance days will be posted nearer the event." so we will need to wait before booking stuff. I think I will be staying one night in a hotel at least, coming from Jockland.

This is the target you need! Go for it!

they dont normally announce the days untill a few weeks before the event, so it may end up quite tight organising stuff

Email sent :)

I'm giving this some thought.

It's Hicks, after all...
S'pose it depends on the overall cost in the end.
I suspect 07 will be a "One out-of-town-event" year due to the wedding, and that event will most likely be NSC November.

That being the case, I'll hand the reigns over to Mr 'Troon.

See what the dude says, anyway.

Got a reply...

With the news of Michael Biehn appearing at Milton Keynes in May ( Any chance of this being repeated in Glasgow at all?

Showmasters:
Unlikely just at this moment, due to schedules, but we might look to getting Michael to Scotland at a later date.

what sort of arrangements we might be able to come ...

I can't promise anything, but remind me closer to the show and I will make enquiries.

Even if nothing specifically involving Mr Biehn is possible, we would still love to simply attend the show in character.

Showmasters:

That shouldn't be a problem.

So sent off one more reply for now...
I think it's polite enough, while still getting our request "in there" ;)

Me:

Nice one, thanks!

Sadly, it looks more likely that I can't make it myself to the Milton Keynes event, but on behalf of those who can - And for reference for other Collectormania events, is there any chance at all of reduced ( Or free ;) - Hey, we can but ask! ) entry to the show and the use of a small room for changing in for any days we're there in-character, please?

I can guarantee at least two marines and one Alien for the Glasgow, show, and am fairly certain you'll have at least 5 times that for any show where you have an Aliens actor or crew member appearing.

Thanks again,

Steve.

Here's hopin'.

Rev, I don't think they charge an entry fee for Collectormania at Milton Keynes as it's held in a shopping centre.

There is usually a fee for their other events though.

Cheers,

Andy.

Proudly gain entry surely! :D

Definitely worth asking about changing areas though, good work on getting a dialogue going.

Cheers,

Andy

Forget asking for anything from this event.

It is in the shopping centre and I am sure the UKG guys can fill you in on the farce we had last time.

Change in the toilet, expect all the signers to drop out at the last minute (this way you MAY be plesantly suprised) and expect to be crushed in the merchandise stands.

On a side note, if you do attend, the UKG will be at the NSC doing a Star Wars event and staying at the Marriott Hotel on the M1 jct 21 - just 1 hour from Milton Keynes (beer and party!) the rates are better than you have here.
