LOL My bad. I dunno why I even know the name - I think I saw it referenced in a video game manual years ago ( Something for the Spectrum! ) and thought "That's such a cooler word than "flamethrower".

Harry Harris is the MAN, BTW... Thanks dude! Much obliged! I'm oddly impressed with Royal Mail, too. Since when did something posted 1st Class at about 4pm actually turn up the next day? ( OK, they handed it over with a parcel they'd not bothered delivering two days before, but still... )Now - Harry, there seems to be two fuel tanks with the kit? *Confused* One an upgrade for accuracy or something? *Off to the pic archive*

Heh. Cheers. I dount I'll have it finished in time for this weekend, but you'll get to see the final result if you make it to CM Glasgow, or the NSC. Gonna have it drilled through, and use a threaded rod to hold the bits together. BTW, that dude who was selling a Flamer on eBay that a few folk linked me to - The pic was one of yours  [EDIT] My bad, it's not one of yours, it's the pic of the complete Klingon Armourer kit from the alienscollection website. [] Have pointed this out and asked him for pics of the actual thing he's selling if anyone else was watching the auction... Hmm. VERY suspicious of this guy now. I asked for some pics of the actual flamer, and said that depending on the kit it's 80% built from, I might actually know someone who could make him a decent cash offer - I mentioned a few of the inaccuracies of the various kits on the market and offered to help him ID exactly what he had on his hands... If it isn't total vapourware, I'd make an educated guess that this is a terran trader kit. I used to own one, and the fuel tank and shroud are vac-formed. Not worth £60, especially from a weirdo like that. My Dvd List |

You guys know the score... as badly as you might want something, and as badly as you might want it to be what you want, this guy has sent up plenty of red-flags in his e-mails (as posted here) warning that it's best that you just stay away. I hate people like that, and happened to have a similar experience on eBay back in about 1999 that put me in a tough position where I had already won the item but was going to be charged an overly inflated shipping cost -- not mentioned in the auction posting mind you. When I questioned how he determined the cost, his attitude in his e-mails made my skin crawl and I wanted absolutely nothing to do with the item I had just won. It's always good to ask questions first, and know when to walk away. Good job on getting hooked up by Harry with the flamethrower by the way! I have a wee surprise for him come November as a thank you Said flamer won't be ready for the weekend, so I'm shotgunning after all... But on the upside, a mate with a machine shop's drilling the body out for some threaded rod for uber stability - And I MIGHT be into a run of metal heat shields for the front end, for about £20 a pop. I'd need about 5 sold to do that, so watch this space.

After reading everything on here i have a better idea on what my flamethrower is worth, bugger all by the looks of it so i'll be selling it with my pulse rifle as a job lot... will post pictures and start a seperate thread sometime today...... Glenn |
