The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

The facehuggers on the Sulaco in Alien 3....where did they come from?
The egg we see, where did that come from?

Well....throw in the Alien 3 blu-ray and watch the menu.....it tells us.

It points to the Sulaco's landing bay, the dropships rear strut and states 'life form detected'

So, this shows the queen brought them on board...not Bishop.

Can the menu's put this story to bed once and for all? I think so!!!

:) I've posted about this before in the BR thread - but it's not consistent with the title sequence of the actual film which shows an egg attached to a white interior bulkhead.

It was me.
I was very drunk and thought it would be a laugh to stick an egg up there. Wasn't planning on killing a war hero, a little girl and an android though....

I think this will never get answered, just like Qui-Gon's ninja death roll in ep1 and why 'Marley and Me' got made.

The Bishop theory begs the question: Where did he get it from?

The surveillance footage on the right shows the queen emerging so it's probably just showing that it has "detected" the Queen.
Plus this is just in the menu and there is no time indication to show that it's referring to something after the big fight with Queeny.

Good spot though Tony :)

You guys know Alien 3 was a dream, right? That's why Ripley incorrectly remembered the Sulaco logo as white while she slept.

Didn't care of Alien 3 that much, it felt like they were just trying to milk the last drop of money from the franchise.

No no no. The Sulaco logo is white on one side and black on the other so you know which side of the ship to pass on (when two ships approach each other). Just like how there are red and green lights on the sides of ships and wingtips of planes.

Funny that's how I felt about the two AvP films.

Unfortunately Tony I can't give any weight to a menu screen as this has been added after the fact. You know what they say: "If it didn't happen in the film..."

Yup what Willie said.

A3 was just a bad case of cryo sleep nightmares, if you watch all the way through the credits Freddy Kruger pops up and goes "Fooled you!"

Ok that parts not true but I can wish can't I?

In my opinion Ripley should wake up onboard the Sulaco and say 'what a nightmare....alien from an ox and they cloned me?' shakes it off and the story can continue with Hicks and Newt.

AvP and /R....well......that's another story.

Its just one of those things that doesn't even make sense in context of the movie. The queen sperated from her egg sac, so pretty sure they just aren't calling out the backside like so much xeno poo, BUT how would Bishop have gone down, grabbed one and got it back up and hidden it with enough time to lift off before Ripley came back up. BUT the elevators are both up at the landing pad when she goes to leave...

Maybe some warrior snuck it out and hid it then disappeared again laughing the whole way back to the hive...

Trust me, the Fox exec who greenlit this fecal tornado didn't care if it made sense how the egg got on board, he just wanted a sequel.

Someone smelled the money. I still wish they'd gone ahead and done that cartoon series instead, sure it would have been a bit corny but anything would have been better than A3...

Amen. I have a sort of love/hate relationship with A3, and the hate mostly comes from the start of the movie, in the "let's destroy as much as Aliens as we can" montage. EVERYTHING is wrong, starting from the "LET'S KILL EVERYBODY" to the egg on the wall to the different stasis tubes to the wrong color of the Sulaco... Brain freezes. It's better for consider it as a stand alone movie. I mean, the workprint isn't half bad, especially with the new ADR. 10 times better as Resurrection, anyway. ;)

But I have to ask: where do the "Bishop brought the eggs on board" theory came from? Never heard that before reading that thread, and that theory seems to be reeeally popular. I'm shocked! ;)

I liked Alien 3. Not what i expected or wanted but it grew on me.

Ive always said. Its the final part of a three part story.

Alien: The Beginning.
Aliens: The Middle.
Alien 3: The end.

Its not so much the story of the Aliens, but of Ripleys journey as she tries to stop the evil company from taking the Alien back to Earth with disasterous results. In my mind she succeeded but at the cost of her life.

Alien Res was just a rip off. I hate that film.

I completely think the same way.

Do I like the fact that Newt and Hicks were killed off so unceremoniously? Certainly not.

However I understand the need to "not have them in the film" as having them would simply produce more of the same of "Aliens". I'm sure there would be people screaming "rip-off" if A3 was about Hicks being a badass, getting injured, and Ripley having to go after Newt again.

Would I have liked to have seen them safely on the Sulaco, while a malfunction jettisoned Ripley to Fiorina 161? Maybe, but it feels a bit contrived to envision it, and this is a horror film after all. So Newt and Hicks died.

Ripley died too. They ALL bought it, which was kind of the point I think.

Bringing her back in A4 was the real miscarriage of justice. But Fox managed to top THAT wreck by producing the AvP films.

Yeah, I agree completely. Each movie after the third managed to top the sheer suckiness of the one before, and that's one of the things that make me like A3. I mean, Alien Resurrection, AVP, AVP2... *throws up in his mouth a little*

And yeah, I understand the need for Hicks and Newt to be gone. It made A3 a stand-alone film in the series. Take William Gibson's script for A3, for example. I mean, it kicked ass, but it was basically Aliens 2. No new element whatsoever.
