Hello, I have this kit i got from a member on the RPF and will need some help here to make it drop ready. I'me reading through all the old posts and archived topics first, but still have lots of questions. ![]() Ther's still a few parts I need to get, like a metal barrel and some way to mount the GL, but there are some bits I can't figure ut what they're for (please excuse the crappy phone pics, camera needs batteries). ![]() ![]() The piece in the middle is white plastic with 2 brass screws, the 2 other pieces appear to be steel. I also only got 1 of these: ![]() What's the easiest way to replicate this? One last question for now, the resin shrouds have screw heads cast into the mag holder. Whats the consensus, should they be filled in or left visible? Thanks, Neil. |

I THINK the part on the left has something to do with attaching the pump grip to the remington (only part i can think of that has 2 flat headed screws so close to each other). White plastic part could also be to do the attaching the mag to the mag base. Easiest ways to replicate that mag tab is to mold it and cast a copy in resin. 2nd easiest is to scratchbuild one from styrene sheet. Also its up to you if you leave the cast in screw heads. Some of the rifles had extra metal in the mag well to help guide the mag in and these replicate the visable screws holding that metal in place. Some had it, some didnt. |

The white plastic piece with the brass screws is from an SD (or copied from an SD). It sits on the bottom of the receiver in front of the mag and the screws are used as contacts and for getting power from a battery in the mag to the counter. If you're receiver doesn't have the recess in the bottom for the foregrip mount then this part might not fit it's supposed to go here: http://props.steinschneider.com/pulser/pulpic07.htm And you can see the contacts on the front of the mags here: http://props.steinschneider.com/pulser/pulpic16.htm Since you kit seems to have quite a few SD components the build guide above should prove invaluable. |

On my last rifle I made the mag tabs from some flat AL barstock. Just cut it to size and put some grooves in it with a hacksaw. Lookedd pr4etty nice when done and was pretty easy to make as well. |

Thanks for the tips guys! I don't think I'll be able to use the white thing. I think I'll try to scratch build the mag release tab from styrene first, I have some .030 sheets handy. I think I also found where the block with the counter sunk hole goes, behind the grip on the bottom of the receiver there's a 1/2" pin sticking down. I think it goes over the strap which holds the 2 halves of the shrouds together, over this pin. |

gah, nice grab. I've been scouring the boards hoping to get a quality kit that doesn't break the bank |
