The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Actually this was after the film let out, the theater director and I had some fun in the lobby:

I threw this together at 1am so it's a little rough around the edges 8)

Priceless. How did you do the effects?

I do my editing in Adobe Premiere, but the muzzle flash and falling debris are just free video clips off the internet. I ripped the sounds off a YouTube clip and then just threw it all together.

In retrospect I wish I'd added an Alien scream at the end. Maybe there will be a Director's Cut!

Simon: I could always use more PR sounds! Your video clips are pretty great. I've only used After Effects a little bit, but I'm impressed by what I've seen.

Cheers bud!
AE only requires patience really, if you've got that then you can do most things with it :)

Here's the files I have, they have different amounts of reverb on them so you'll have to find the best one for your vid and cut it up. I think I used 11 & 12 for mine.

Wow, it is the falling debris that really sells it. I have noticed that even a blank round will knock material off ceiling tiles, but I would have never thought to add it as an affect.
FYI: snipers will put a towel down under the muzzle to prevent a dust cloud from identifying their position.
