I haven't posted any work on this forum in a few years now. Time just friggin' flies. In the works I have some Imperial toys VP builds, and a handful of Nerf longshot to PR conversions. Here is a Wilco Flamer kit that I modified quite a bit, and added a lot of odds and ends too, including my own tank that I made removable. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I've also been working to convert some nerf products to props. First up for me was the Vulcan. I wanted to keep it in the same class as the smart gun, so I just did a simple weathered black paintjob on her. But what I wanted to do for fun was convert the belt to M40 style grenades. I haven't seen this done before, and I have to believe that the nerf designers watched a lot of Aliens when making the N-strike line of guns. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hope you guys enjoy the pics! |

Very cool. What's the thin tube for that's left after the gas bottle's removed from the flame unit? |

That chain looks amazing. What did you do to make them so shiny? |

You haven't actually made that incinerator functional, have you? Or is the feed tube just for show? |

Thanks guys! I had a good time doing the flame unit. The belted grenades was actually kind of a pain in the ass. For the grenades I used aluminum tape on the finish (Hvac tape), washers, and flat brass screws (for the globes that go over lights) for the primer and back end. Milliput to fill it all in, the front end is red acrylic paint and I cut white vinyl tape into thin strips to finish it all off. It took me forever to do it. Yep, that's a tube for the fluid. It's from a carpet cleaner that blew up on us. It has a cool micro mesh filter on the end. Sarge, you're welcome to carry them at Dcon. |

Demetrius wrote: Man, that gets me thinking I need a flamer. What you do in your personal life is your choice!!! But more on topic with the flamer thrower and the Vulcan.... NNNIIICCCEEEE!! The Wilco flamethrower is a very basic kit....but man you've just added awesomeness to is. What did you use for the tank and more importantly the top and bottom sections? Mine is still the smooth basic tank that comes with it...I'd love to add that to mine. I know Dom used the wooden sticks which looked awesome as well. |
