If you're ever in Europe Kevin, definitely check this out. Its awesome. There are three full size aliens, including a great one on the ceiling in an 'Aliens' pose.

Also, in an upright glass cabinet you'll find the original star beast. If someone had told me before I saw it the thing would send a shiver down my spine I wouldn't have believed them. But that's exactly what happened! It really is a disturbing creation.

The rest of the museum will thrill any Aliens fan, and the town of Gruyers itself is one of the most beautiful places I've seen.

The bar is amazing, let down only by the fact it doesn't stay open after 8pm, so get 'em in early!

If you ever get a chance to go, take it - the place rocks.

It's probably a good thing they close at 8. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to wander around in there drunk.

It's expensive to stay in Gruyeres, although there is an excellent camping site within walking distance with good facilities. Summer is an ideal time to stay as the weather is great, with good light into the evenings.
You can stay in standing room sized tents for hire. This would be an affordable way to stay, leaving more cash for your Giger souvenirs!

We could contact the museum and request an official photo opp, perhaps. It would be great to donate something to Giger or the museum along the lines of the badges we present to the cast and crew.

Just a thought. And Giger is 'getting on a bit' now.

Anyhow, it would just make an awesome weekend.

I wonder how Giger would eact to us wanting to do this though? Do you think he would get involved in such an amazing plan? I'd love to shake the mans hand and thank him for creating such an amazing world! And bug;)

He's like the Godfather of the Alien!

A trip to see his home town would be great!!

well Bri, it's always worth a go, but I sincerely doubt we could get HRG himself involved.

What I meant was, just getting permission to be photographed with the original bug, that in itself will be tough. A bunch of marines with the number one beast in the glass behind, that would be great.

We'd have to get permission to photograph anywhere, since they have a strict no pics policy. But with a good letter and enough notice we should be able to accomplish this.
