Hi peeps. I thought I'd start a new thread for the US/Canadian Alien Encounters dvds since only six people have expressed an interested in buying one. This was a UK event so maybe that's the reason there isn't much overseas interest for it. So I'm going to make only 30 discs and ship them to Malika, who will then ship them out to whoever wants one. I was hoping you guys in North America would see this film, because no-one does these kind of events better than the Americans and the thought of you people over there being inspired by the remarkable UK Alien Encounter and putting on an AE of your own would indeed be something to, er, -ahem- encounter. So come on chaps, I mean, dudes, grab a dvd and I promise you'll have a laugh and maybe even want to put on a show of your own! Please just add your name to this thread if want a dvd. Malika will post order details shortly. Andrew Amercian/Canadian DVD list: tonyandcherie Airborne Mike (fag free special edition) Rook 3 cplbeaudoin 911dropship DKWD USCMCorps ![]() |

I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again......... These DVD's are a fantastic watch whether you were at the event or not. We are not talking rough footage from a couple of guy's walking, sorry running, around with a camcorder here. The music, editing, humour is so professional and entertaining, I can't recommend them highly enough! Plus you get a great interview with Al Matthews and Terry English and the piece-de-resistance is a guided tour of the Harry Harris collection..............by the man himself! ![]() Hope you guys are filming the next one! Cheers, Andy. If this is going to be played in public can you just check with ADC, as some of the bits are from the film and think there may be an issue. We are not selling them for that reason, we are asking for a charitable contribution. |

I've noticed a distinct lack of names from our American counterparts with reagrds to buying the Alien Encounter DVD. Not sure why, its something I thought everone would be dying to see, regardless of country. Firstly has anyone seen Trekkies? If you have then you will know its not some camcorder footage chucked together after a weekend on the piss, its a professional documentary about the fans of that particular franchise. Alien Encoutner is from the same mould, it is a professional documentary about fans of the film Aliens. There is no other documentary like this, not even on your 9 disc Alien Legacy box set, even Trekkies lacks a certain punch that this doco packs. No film has a fanbase quite like Aliens, and no fan base has a film quite like the Alien Encounter DVD. For those of you that never got to see London's Alien War than this is as close as you will get (unless you come to this years Encounter of course). The DVD also features a long Q&A with Mr Terry English and Al Matthews, both living up to their reputations as damn interesting people. Plus you get the added bonus of seeing what all your Legacy board buddies have been getting into, and out of. It may also give you guys n' girls some ideas of your own. I completely agree with ADC that America does this sort of stuff better than anyone and we would all love to come over to the states to see what you can put together. So come on, search those BDU's for any spare change, help out some world wide charities and own a seriously limited edition Aliens DVD dedicated to its fans. Get your names listed Marines and as soon as Malika has the DVDs you will be on the receiving end of some seriously Superior Fan Power. It costs less than a pizza and a beer and will be with you a lot longer than any Arcturan poontang. Keep the Legacy alive... |

It'll take something special to top the UK AE 2006, but hopefully 2007 will. However, I too am expecting something special from the US for the 25th anniversary. (And hopefully I'll be there to see it/take part!). This film would be the perfect blueprint: it has loads of behind-the-scenes content. This DVD really is something special. It is the most important Aliens documentary that has been made in many years, and it is one of few such films that stands up on it's own as a film that can be enjoyed by anyone, even by someone who wasn't there and even someone who isn't a fan of the franchise. Also, I have to point out that Andrew and Russ put many, many hours of work into this (including spending the whole of the event behind cameras!!) and they are donating the proceeds to charity. So, come on guys, lets get some more names! |

Well a big box arrived this morning of DVDs and so the long awaited sale to the US can begin. Now the UK guys have raised over £300 for charity on this one, so I throw down the gauntlet and ask that you match or beat this figure. Now obviously there will be higher shipping costs that will need to be deducted, so you will have to buy more, but that should never put you off. Paypal £10 (this includes a DVD in a box with stunning cover and sealed in the see through stuff, Paypal fees and p&p) to malikaa@spacecentre.co.ukand I will pop one in a bubble wrap envelope and send it Airmail. I have spoken to Mr Harris, whom you all know is the font of all knowledge on everything, and he informs me that PayPal will allow you to pay in any currency, so select UK£ and drop us a tenner.
