The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I'm not quite sure where to post this, but here's a great interview with Weaver where she mentions the films, the prequels and the Anthology: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/ ... 4075#int12

It's awesome how she seems to genuinely be a fan of the films, and she at least says she'd like to discuss/have input to the prequels.

Weaver wants input on the prequels...why? Unless it's written in a contract somewhere, I don't see why anyone needs her input.

And why in the world do we need Lance Henrikson in the prequel? Don't get me wrong, I like him as an actor, but good lord, does everything in the "Alien" universe have to be linked to one or more characters from the previous movies? Have we not learned from the mistakes of Lucas and the Star Wars prequels in which all of the characters are seem linked in one big circle? It's a big universe out there, let's use it!

I agree....if she were acting in it then yes I can see that...but I don't believe she is.
Ridley Scott gets input as well as those producing, creating and (sadly) financing it.....not those who acted in the other movies.

She was a 'star' in some of the other movies...that's really it.
I hate to sound like I'm dismissing her entirely from involvement with the franchise....but you have to draw the line somewhere

But DSB.....is it the evil Bishop or the good Bishop? That's never been done before....oh wait...

I'm not sure if any of this is known, but my Brother works in TV and one of the crews he works with came back from Morocco about 10 days ago (I waited until I knew it would be okay to mention). He was told that the area of desert they were shooting (where Scott shot Kingdom of Heaven) on had just been recced by Scott and he's given the go ahead for them to start work on a pyramid!

The person who told my Brother thought it was going to be a part of Earth, but the pyramid sounds suspiciously like the original pyramid idea for Alien, so might actually be Acheron, or another planet.

There is also a warehouse there that I'm guessing will be used for sets or model work.

He was also told that there are only a few, maybe 5 or 6 cast members there/going to be there, which sounds very "Alien".

This is third hand info from a non-fan, so don't take it as fact, but I found it interesting.

Probably already answered this question in other areas, but will ask it anyway....If the star-gazer had his chest ''blown'' out from a baby alien...were did that alien go,.?

Just had to drop by.

There is a major plot merge in the movie where the original idea evolved to a script that was changed by the producers and then adopted by Scott. The chest burster belongs to the earlier visions. The alien that came out of the pilot was killed by the other crew members after birth. The acid melted through the floor and damaged the control system stranding the crew who starved to death. This first part with the fight has been carried over somewhat in to the finished production as it's the melted hole in the floor where Kane is lowered through. The rest has been re-written or dropped, but as it seems Scott might now return to some of these earlier ideas.

Thing is going really nice in here with the pyramid rumor and such.
I enjoy all your visions and speculations makes even me want to bury my self in all cool ideas. I have some doubts about the alien trading card however. Had heard a lot about it. I mean it's cool anecdote but I need harder facts then a chewing gum card. Besides the quality of the model miniature and background is so poor it's hard to believe that any one involved in the pre-production had done it unless it was a very rough sketch proposal for Scott. It's definitely not Giger anyway (I got him completely covered) although the back set carries some similarities. The fossilized alien however do look a little like some of Cobbs earlier artwork of the pilot.

Alien Paradise.

This seems to be the title at the moment sports fans.

Android called David.
Huge creature killing off a group of explorers.
A complete Cg character.

Filming put back a year however all say this is planned and not a problem.

Check it:

Not to be an a$$, but can we post 'possible spoiler alert' if remnants of the story are being posted?

I'd like to stay blind to the storyline of these until I see them if I can.

Hmmm.....

Sir Ridley Scott wrote:

If he casts Russell Crowe in this, I will have severe reservations.... In fact, I will call this Alien: Reservation!!

As the first film's a long way off release, this thread is either gonna be wild speculation or spoilers, so I'd suggest just not reading the thread at all.

I'm upset the stuff with Leo didn't work out. I'm quite a fan, have been since the Beach, and his recent work in the Departed, Shutter Island and the Sublime inception just add to that.
