The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Flawed but brilliant... is that like saying pretty ugly? :)

I wish they hadn't spilled so many of the film's secrets in the trailer, but I'm still looking forward to it.

Harry, where's that spoiler discussion thread? :)

Ok i have just back from watching this . i want to put down a few thoughts ...WITHOUT ANY SPOILERS ! when i first heard the Ridley Scott was making a Possible Alien film , i avoided reading all the online stuff , as i did not want spoilers !

I will say this on the film , Its a great film Ridley at his Best , plenty of twists in the film (one i did throw my hands up and shook my head at ... did they have to reveal that about one of the crew ?)
Plenty of Nods to Alien , some sound effects come direct from Alien , for one.

If you go to this film expecting it to be Guns ,explosions , etc you will come away disappointed ,

It is clear Ridley had a lot of ideas he could not use when he Made Alien and got to use them in this , the ships Bridge looks very close to an unused design from Alien ...
The effects and sets are top notch as is the acting ,

plenty of questions asked but not answered in this film , (Sequel ? )

This a film i will go and see again at the cinema , and top of my list to buy on dvd ( extended cut please !)

I will say this in closing This film will divide the Fans , by the story and there will be lots of arguments on here in the weeks to come

It. Was. Immense!

It answered, in a way, many questions, but it also asked many more!

Some nice plot twists, some unexpected ends, it was grand! A few bits weren't as good as I'd hoped, but over all it was ace. (And from an action nut like me, that's saying something about a non-action movie)

Oh, and Noomi Rapace is in fact, the sh!t. Enough said.

I saw it a couple of hours ago and I liked it a lot. I'd give it a solid 4/5.

There were a few bits that I'd have done differently, but when I watched Alien again the other day there must have been about 5 or 6 times I thought similar things, so overall I'm not disappointed.

I deleted this post:

1. Should not have seen this movie on my one day off after coming from the doctor loaded with painkillers.

2. The last post had too much use of the word "thingy" and other gutteral goofiness (see painkillers)

Will go see the movie again next week or after and be more objectionable.
