The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I was at the local grocery store the other day and I found this for $4:

And after some paint, turned in to this:

I picked up a couple of these from a meijers a few years back. They both broke inside after a couple darts so I took them apart and filled the grips and slides with resin and installed aluminum tubes as barrels, and more accurate triggers. The hollow dart guns would make excellent holster guns for a con though. Light as air.

Yep, god bless you Dom for finding these a few years ago......kept my holster light and full for many a year!!!

For some reason though EVERY VP I've owned has had a broken barrel after 2 slides....EVERY ONE!!!
So once this one was fixed.....in the holster never to be racked again ;)

Yeah it's a decent VP for the price. Very con friendly. But fragile as said.

I have both the dart gun Wes has and the cap gun version we used to get up here at Walmart.

It's interesting that Imperial chose such an obscure handgun to replicate; their other offerings were pretty standard (M1911, M92 and they even made a dart P-38). I'd love to read the story behind it if there is one.

If someone wanted to give these a bit of bulk to strengthen them without adding weight, you could fill it with some of that expanding foam...just make sure there's a hole for the excess to spill out of as it expands.

I strengthened mine with milliput and coins. Cut the coins up with a dremel, and reenforced the inside with bits o' metal.

They had 2 more at the store I bought mine at. It's a chain, so there like 20 of them here in town. Should I start a wanted list?

I've picked up 4 so far. I figure it shouldn't cost more than $3-4 to ship in the US and 5-6 to ship over the pond. Once I get enough, I'll ship one US and one over to get exact costs. I'm not figuring more than $8 US and $10 overseas. However, with customs laws, I'm not sure how the customs will handle it.

I don't think customs will be a problem (not for Italy anyway) since the gun looks undeniably like a toy. As long as you don't post them painted in black there shouldn't be any problems I think.
