The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Haha, that's awesome. Makes me wonder how many takes they must have done of that shot.

Some of schools of thought-

1- "Where they are." Is what the character Vasquez says during every mission briefing. Hicks has heard the line one too many times and was mocking her as part of the script.

2- The line has become a standard for Colonial Marines (kind of like Semper Fi). Hicks was saying it along with her. This also ties in Drake's reaction.

3- The scene in reality had been re-shot so many times that Michael Biehn was mocking Jenette Goldstein in an improvisation.

Take your pick. ;) :)

"I know I'm human. And if you were all these things, then you'd just attack me right now, so some of you are still human. This thing doesn't want to show itself, it wants to hide inside an imitation. If it takes us over, then it has no more enemies, nobody left to kill it. And then it's won."

I've also been told that Biehn is something of an asshole in person, so Theory #3 seems quite plausable, lol.

Not saying I don't like the other two "canonized" explanations too ;)

Must admit for me I`d say No#1. I`ve always thought that was the case.

After all they are supposed to be a Tight outfit with long history together. So yea he`s heard this soooo many times.

Hell when I used to walk home from collage (back in the day) with mates,Every night somewhere in the chatting "Short controlled bursts" & "Nuke it from orbit,it`s the only way to be sure" was ALWAYS going to be quoted by one of us.

I'm thinking something along the lines of No.1 as well.
I've known exactly that kind of thing to happen fopr real and despite what Michael may or may not be like as a person he is a professional actor and I think it less likely that he'd get so particularly irritated by multiple takes as to mock Janette in real life per No.3.

Why No.1 over No.2? Just a gut feeling.

3 things,

1: I've noticed that since Aliens came out....
2: clearly Vasquez says that alot and he is mocking her.
3: I never knew the facehugger sound at the end of the credits was in fact a face hugger... it always sounded like paper rustling.... but I never owned a stereo copy of Aliens until the DVD came out.... :)

Note that Hudson does it, too.

Couldya give us a LONGER title sequence, please, Dom? 50% of the running time isn't nearly enough. ;)
