The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

my screw that attaches to the hook bracket had its threads stripped and thus will not stay in anymore. anyone have an idea how i can go about fixing this? the lamp stays on my armor fine, i just would like it to stay on a little more secure and not worry about it being ripped off by accident.

If you're talking about the bolt that goes into the side of the main lamp housing, you could try glueing (with a weld-type glue or epoxy) a nut on the inside of the housing and then use a different bolt to screw into that?

I did a similar thing in putting an additional bolt through the middle of the housing;

I stuck extra nuts around the one I was going to screw into to hold it tighter and hopefully reduce the stress on any turning force. I used a two part epoxy as the glue. 8)

That's what I thought, as the area of the housing where the hole is situated is both thick resin and very narrow.

funny thing, found a wood screw that was lying around on the workbench and tried it. fits great and make a nice snug post for the slot anchor arm.
