The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Very nice so far. That`s quite an undertaking you`ve jumped on.

So how are you planning on re-enfocing this M41?

Again Sweet work so far.

well the plastic card i used for the main body is quite thick so the whole thing it very sturdy at the moment. but i still have to build the inner walls where the handle area meets the M1A1 parts. i was thinking about filling certain parts with plaster to add weight but i think that will just add strain on the joins.

i just cant wait to paint it. thats the part i enjoy most. :)

Looking good so far! :D

Not too sure about the plaster thing- as you said it might put too much stress on the joints. Maybe some strategically placed lead weights would work.

Best of success!

Kevin

The Pr looks great! I bet if you do some research on how others have built thier PR you may find a technique for mounting the thompson parts.

I'd suggest, for the "filling", some cheap 2 part resin instead of plaster. Michaels carries some cheapo stuff that I have used to fill insides of airsofts and rotocast stuff to give it weight. It works well and it's not too heavy that it would strain anything.

Good luck and keep us posted, it looks bad ass so far!!

Looks great !
For some of my projects I have used plasticine as filler.
Just push it in to were you want it.
It gives a nice bit of weight and its cheap and clean to use as well.

That thing looks fantastic. I'm amazed at how something scratchbuilt can look that good. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the finished product.

wow thanks for all the kind words and great advice everyone. i test fitted the whole thing together today and it has a bit of weight to it as it is so i dont think im gunna need to add much more to it. im liking the plasticine idea though, sounds cheap and easy to do!

well i have almost finished the pump grip today so photos of that up as soon as its done. :)

well well well. what a day. really wanted to get her all finished today as i was starting to get sick of this project. kinda rushed the painting of the grip but i think it looks ok once its all together. still a couple of things i wanna add (like the trigger, but i dont want to add that until i know im not gunna play with her anymore ). well anyway here is the 99% finished piece........

So most of this is hollow, am I correct? I can see from the WIP photos that you built it in ... 'modules'. How are they attached together? Did you design it so that it can be stripped down to the component pieces?

Thank you for sharing your beautiful scratchbuild with us!

Jay
