The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I'm calling this one "mostly" done. Just need to make the round detail piece for the front of the mag and figure out a way to securely attach the mag cover. Also the foam grips aren't quite right.

Weighs in at about 20 lbs...

Fantastic project man! You have reason to be proud!

I assume you're not interested in making a few more of these (some of the parts) and sell?

it's about 9kg - which is 20lbs (assuming my bathroom scales are accurate) Kind of heavy - but I have a Matsucorp MG42 if I ever need to make a lighter one.

Looks B-As s man!

When complete, will it still fire?

I'd love to see a video working airsoft smartgun.

Nice work Jon.

soon as I have the body for mine in, I'll post some pictures... As for the control arm what are you using for a smartcam mount? (I'm making mine by hand)

You might want to check out www.codydeegan.com if you're planning on making your own steadicam.

9 Kg is not to bad.

I got a VFC M82A1 that weigh the same.

I know one thing tho. I do not run with it!!!!

Looking very nice indeed. Are you going to put a shoei M42 inside it to make it into a airsoft weapon?

Cheer's DATA

Hey Jon, would you be willing to sell me a kit to turn a Shoei MG42 into an M56 Smart Gun?

Once you find a drum mag, a feed tray and the right Kawasaki parts you're already 80% there - everything else was fabricated from acrylic, aluminium or steel so there's not really a way to make a "kit".

Jon, would it be possible for you to post a list of the "found parts" for this build? I.E. the drum mag and feed tray, and the kawasaki model the handlebars are from and whatnot.

I know I'm also probably not the only person out here who would be interested in a "batch" if you ever decided to sell casts of the parts you fabricated :) I'm really interested in doing a project like this but unfortunately I don't have much experience with machining.

I'd be awfully interested too... it's true 80% can be found elsewhere but the remaining 20% is what makes it all so hard :-( Exquisite piece or work there!!!
