Just out of interest really as I'm thinking of colonial marine-ifying an existing green jacket I have my adding a few CMC patches etc. Nothing "screen accurate" or anything, just a bit of fun that other fans might notice but isn't too "in your face" as I do wear the jacket daily suring the summer.

I can easily source all the patches I'd want except I don't seem to be able to find any place to get a custom name patch!

I'm sure I've seen them online but cant for the life of me find them now. The one I saw (I think) was like a 1" wide piece of green fabric with the name embroidered in to it (with the correct font)...

Any suggestions? I'm sure it's a simple fine if you know where to look!

There are a couple of threads here with details of suppliers.

However, SA ones are in fact easier - You just write the name on a blank tape with a black marker!!

Like on mine:



I used a black permanent marker, printing off the letters in the right sized font on a bit of paper so I had a guide to look at for spacing and shape as I wrote each letter.

After every wash of the jacket I have to just go over the letters again as they do fade a little.

I had my nametapes done by http://www.1800nametape.com . I had to provide them with the USCM font, but they turned out great!







One thing to be sure to ask for- make sure the font is 1/2" height. I think the standard is 3/4"? Anyway it looks wonky if it is larger than 1/2".
